What is your most memorable wedding?
Back when Jubilee Events first began and we were testing out all our kit and processes a wonderful couple called Tim and Rosie let us use their wedding day as a pilot. The day was beautiful and went without a hitch. It was a delight to see our team working together and to celebrate with such great supporters and friends. There have been many more amazing weddings since then, but that particular day will always have a special place in the whole team's memory.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classic, luxurious, authentic, sustainable, quintessential
What about your business are you most proud of?
We provide supportive jobs to people who face major barriers to employment. Our team includes ex-offenders, ex-addicts, ex-homeless, survivors of abuse and slavery and people with physical and mental health challenges. We pride ourselves on always providing excellent service but it is the people we employ to deliver that service that really drives us.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's your day, do it your way! If you love pizza, have pizza, if you don't like speeches then ditch them. The most important thing is that you are celebrating your union in your own way. So tell us what you want, we would love to help you make it happen.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Little native tree saplings as favours. What an awesome way to give everyone a lasting memento of the day and help the planet.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We like to have an initial chat in whatever way suits you best; whether that's over the phone, emailing or messaging. We want to hear what your dream day looks like and let you ask us all those burning questions that you've gathered as you search through options.
After that we've got some practicalities we like to ask about so we can establish what set up will work best for you and then we can provide you with a quote. For our full wedding packages we like to make a site visit at this point too.
Once you've accepted the quote we'll be on hand to lead you through all the scheduling and details of your day. Alongside finalising all the elements we provide, we also offer wedding coordination services where we can liaise with all your suppliers to bring things together.
Our team will arrive on site ahead of your wedding day to set everything up, ready for you to do any finishing touches! We'll then set it all down afterwards, leaving your venue exactly as we found it.
How do you create an ambiance in a marquee?
The great thing about a marquee wedding is that the setting often does the hard work for you. A large garden or field with views of the beautiful British countryside is just such a lovely backdrop for a wedding. Combined with the crisp ivory coloured lining and swags in the marquee it gives you the perfect base to add some personal touches. This year I've been loving the modern style hexagonal arches draped with locally grown flowers and foliage. They create a focal point whilst also being really sustainable. At night I think you can't beat swathes of twinkling fairy lights as the sun sets, magical!
