What is your most memorable wedding?
It might sound a cliche but every wedding has a place in my heart, they are all so different and the people are amazing. I have to say though, Kate and Tom's wedding will always be one I remember, the bride and bridesmaids doing shots as they walked down the aisle, the groom having his shoes off and wandering around bare foot all day, the amazing party vibes and even the way their families looked after us during a build in intense heat - lots of iced drinks, snacks and tons of ice lollies - so amazing to feel part of their family.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed. Outdoor. Personal. Unique. Yours.
What about your business are you most proud of?
We founded our business after not being able to get what we want and needed from other existing venues and suppliers. We are so proud to work with other couples and help them to plan and deliver their own big days.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Talk through what the two of you want and make a list of 'must haves' and 'nice to haves' and absolutely do not be swayed by others to do what they want you to - it's your day!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I think some of the signage and tributes are amazing, from a shot wall built by a family friend to temporary tattoos of the bride and groom to little dinosaurs as place settings, the creativity speaks to me!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We would discuss with you what you would like your day to look and feel like and develop a package that suits this. Once booked, we don't just leave it there - unless that's what you want of course - but we will happily work with you to sources other items of ours or through our supplier networks, will suggest things we come across and small touches that suit your specific day. We are there to hold your hand and every one of our couples mean the world to us. We don't take on hundreds of weddings at the same time - you don't just get a marquee, you get us.
How do you create an ambiance in a marquee?
Our tipis are made right here in the UK by skilled craftsmen, certified by the Guild of Master Craftsmen; ensuring they are of the highest quality. The unique design allows the tipi sides to be raised and also linked together to create flexible spaces for your unique event. The tipis are stunning in their own right, but there are lots of ways to dress them to match your theme too - with props, styling, flowers and foliage, even lighting can change the atmosphere entirely. We will work with you to bring your vision to life. If you want a 1,000 paper cranes hanging from the ceiling - let's do it! Want to create a house party - we've got uplighters and props for that.
Where is the most exciting place that you have put a marquee?
I don't think it's necessarily about the location being somewhere popular but more somewhere with meaning, we love to put tipis up in family land, somewhere that makes the couple and everyone they know feel right at hoe
What is your favourite design of marquee and why?
Our favourite and most popular layout is a double tipi set up: one side for seating around banqueting tables and benches, the other for the dancefloor and DJ and a bar in the middle. Lots of props and styling inside and out and it is a space that is affordable but practical, creating different areas within the structure.
