Great British Tents was established in 2016 and we know what it takes to create your dream wedding. Weâve set up in fields, private gardens, stunning venues and everywhere in between.
We supply Stretch Tents, Bell Tents and Tipis across Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. Ask us nicely, we might even travel to Kent too.
Our Bell Tents are proper guest accommodation. Proper beds. Proper mattresses. Proper bedding. Whether you want a just a few or a full Bell Tent village, your guests will be delighted.
Our Stretch Tents and Tipis are designed for your main event. Ceremony, reception, dining, dancing. They come with matting and lighting as standard, not as an added extra. We believe you should know what youâre getting from the start.
Our brochure price is what you pay. No sneaky extras for labour, (honestly, who is expected to put them up themselves?) no added damage waiver quietly slipped in (what its only 3%, who's going to notice?) no delivery charge within Sussex. We are putting it up. We are taking it down. It is all included.

Unfortunately, we are not usually invited to the wedding part of the day!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Prepare for it to rain (sorry!).
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love it when a table plan has a theme that is special to the couple, especially if it music themed. I enjoy looking at the different bands and thinking which one I would like to be seated at (If I ever get an invite!).
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We aim to be as helpful and flexible as possible. We want to take as much stress out of the process as possible, so if there is something we can do to alleviate that stress, we will do our best to help.
How do you create an ambiance in a marquee?
Being a lover of the great outdoors and active camper, for me our Bell Tents have to look great but also offer a degree of practicality. Yes, a stack of vintage suitcases looks great but are you going to use them? With our Gold Packages they are styled with a British theme in mind.
Where is the most exciting place that you have put a marquee?
We are very lucky as we get to travel around the beautiful countryside and erect tents in country mansions and stately homes but I am still partial to a lush field, in the middle of nowhere, knowing that the wedding will be going on until the small hours of the morning!
What is your record time for putting up your marquee?
The glory with our Bell Tents is that they only have two poles and a dozen pegs to put them up. So you can erect one in under 10 minutes. It is the decorating that takes the time. I certainly would not encourage my staff to rush this part as we want everything to be perfect ; )
What is your favourite design of marquee and why?
The fact they only have two poles and go up so quickly! This means we can usually get home before its dark!
