We offer stunning, unique temporary tent structures for weddings and events. Established in 2010 and one of the very first Nordic Tipi suppliers in the UK, we know all things tents and have completed well over 1000 events to date. Our structure range includes Nordic Tipis, Stretch Tents, Timber Geodomes and Timber Quad Domes. We also offer furniture and lighting options making us somewhat of a one stop shop. What is your most memorable wedding?
Our wedding! Event in a Tent was born through our search for the perfect wedding venue back in 2010. We couldn't find a venue that really suited us as a couple and the things we love. That's when we found the tipis. We got hitched in 2011, and decided to also offer our tipis for other couples looking for the perfect wedding venue. We planned for 4 events that year, but completed 40!!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Firstly, we talk to our potential couple about their plans, what they like and try and get a feel for what they're looking for. We then create a quote or multiple quotes with different options. We include photos and floorplans so they can see how the space works. If the couple is happy with the quote and would like to go ahead, we arrange a site visit at the chosen venue to ensure the ground is appropriate. A 25% deposit is paid by the couple to secure the booking, with the rest of the balance either paid in full or in instalments up to 3 weeks before the event.
How do you create an ambiance in a marquee?
Ambiance is created through many aspects, the main feature being lighting. Warm glows can be create through our fairy lights spiralling down the tipi poles, and beautifully rustic Nordic firepits in the centre.
Where is the most exciting place that you have put a marquee?
The Swiss Alps!!
What is your favourite design of marquee and why?
Our dome. The dome was designed by the director, Matt. Its geometric shapes and clear opening brings in so much light, and the exposed timber frames brings nature into play too.
