One of our most memorable weddings has to be the time we pitched a tipi right on the beach. With the sea as the backdrop and the tipi sitting directly on the sand, it was a pretty spectacular setting for a wedding.

It was also a brilliant example of what we love about tipi weddings – they give couples the freedom to create a celebration somewhere completely unique, rather than being restricted to a traditional venue.

Getting a giant tipi safely pitched on a beach certainly presented a few logistical challenges, but that’s exactly the sort of challenge our team loves. The end result was an unforgettable wedding in a location that really was one of a kind.

Lighting is everything when it comes to creating atmosphere. Our tipis naturally have a warm, intimate feel, which we enhance with fairy lights wrapped around the wooden poles, uplighters and festoon lighting.

We also love using seasonal foliage, hanging flower rings, fire bowls and cosy chill-out areas to add warmth and character. As the daylight fades, the tipis really come into their own – the combination of natural timber, warm lighting and thoughtful styling creates a magical atmosphere that’s very difficult to replicate in a traditional venue.

Definitely on a beach! We pitched one of our giant tipis directly on the sand for a wedding, with the sea as the backdrop. It was a challenging build from a logistical point of view, but that made seeing the finished result even more rewarding.

We’ve been lucky enough to pitch our tipis in some incredible locations – from beautiful private gardens and country estates to historic venues – but there was something particularly special about creating a full wedding venue right on the beach. It perfectly sums up what we love about tipis: with the right planning and expertise, you can create something spectacular in places you simply couldn’t with a traditional venue.

Our Giant Hat tipi is definitely our favourite. It’s incredibly versatile and can look completely different depending on how it’s configured and styled. The sides can be raised to create a beautiful open-air feel in the summer, or lowered to create a warm, atmospheric space when the weather turns.

We particularly love linking several Giant Hats together to create one spectacular venue, with separate areas for dining, dancing, a bar and relaxed seating while still keeping everything connected.

The natural wooden poles, warm fairy lights and soaring canvas create an atmosphere that’s hard to beat – especially as the sun goes down and the tipi really comes to life.
