What is your most memorable wedding?
All my weddings are memorable but I especially love the ones where I stay for the day because I'm turning around the ceremony room to a reception, or moving arrangements after the ceremony to the reception. This is a great idea to repurpose arrangements and I get to feel part of it all and seeing the bride with her bouquet is just lovely
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
seasonal, slightly wild, rustic, scented, romantic
What about your business are you most proud of?
The quality of my fresh locally grown flowers
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Think about booking your florist as early as you can, especially if you are having a Saturday wedding in summer. We can sometimes get booked up for the most popular dates up to 2 years in advance
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love personal touches, using flowers in your bouquet that are meaningful to you such as the sweet peas your grandmother used to grow or roses from your mother's garden is a wonderful way to add a personal touch
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I offer free consultations either over zoom, phone or in person. A relaxed chat about your wedding plans and flower options will then let me email you a detailed flower proposal with a price breakdown for each possible floral arrangement. When you have looked through this, you can decide whether to book in with a deposit. Then we can arrange a free venue visit to help visualise the flowers in the spaces and make sure you're happy with everything. A month before your wedding, there is more communication to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. Your bouquets and buttonholes are delivered in the morning and ceremony/reception decor is coordinated with the venue so you can just concentrate on having a wonderful time. We clear and compost any flowers afterwards that you aren't keeping.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
I'm often asked to add in personal charms and little photos of beloved family members which is lovely
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
I think having beautiful unique scented seasonal flowers that are grown only a few miles away from your wedding venue symbolises that you care about the environment without compromising on quality
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Oh goodness, that's like asking which is my favourite. There's so many romantic flowers out there. Choosing scented flowers such as sweet peas, or english roses add a dimension to your wedding which will provide memories for years to come. Every time you smell that flower in the future it will take you back to your wedding day. That's got to be the most romantic thing
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Lots of couples keep some of their flowers to either give as gifts to their guests, or to dry or press the bouquets. I totally encourage this but do remember they won't keep for more than a few days afterwards, as they are already fully open and at their best on your wedding day
