What is your most memorable wedding?
They all are - for different reasons, decorating an entire indoor riding arena for my nephews wedding was a challenge with great results, weddings with celebrities are always a bit sparkly to work on. Micro covid weddings were some of the most heartfelt and emotional. Creating a new design or structure...I can go on.. I love them all!!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
relaxed, generous, colour-loving, swishy and on trend
What about your business are you most proud of?
Being able to constantly grow, learn and educate - myself and others to good practice, new styles, making an effort to get the best and unusual materials to inspire.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Hire professionals, for zero stress and perfect results .....and get a great photographer... your pics will last forever!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Just ditch the naff stuff, go strong on the Photographer, Flowers, Music, Food & Drink! and you have yourself a fab stylish day, your guests are there for you....not for personalised napkin rings or baskets of flip flops! so much of this is left behind!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
An online meeting is where we start, the process should take around 20mins to an hour depending on the size of the wedding, we chat through your day, ask questions that really bring into focus how things are going to run for you and the kind of styling you love. I will then formulate your own mood board and itemised quote, with very clear pricing. I am also really happy to work to a budget (everyone has one!) should you prefer. I am always happy to do a site visit if you need advice on structures. A deposit of 20% is required to book your date with me and then 2 weeks before the wedding I will be in touch to confirm all of your plans and the final balance is then due... I will then look after the rest and all you need to do is look forward to your day knowing that your flowers are going to be amazing.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
The personal items of loved ones, a handkerchief, rings or a tiny picture. So powerful
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
There are lots of old fashioned and quaint associations, but your flower choice is precious and personal to you, tell me your story and I am bound to find a flower perfect for you! Introducing new blooms you might not have seen before, one of my couples had matching micro tattoos of a flower I had included in their scheme.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Your Wedding flowers are the most romantic, they create memories
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Share them around to your guests to be enjoyed, A church or care home are very appreciative of a floral gift should you have any left, resin art and flower pressed keepsakes are also an option if that suits your style. If you do wish to take them to a company specializing in this - please organise BEFORE the wedding!
