Emily founded Thistle & Fern in 2021, bringing over seven years of floristry expertise to every wedding she works on. She personally designs all bespoke wedding florals and hand-delivers the bridal bouquet on your wedding morning to ensure everything is exactly as you imagined. This hands-on, detail-focused approach makes Thistle & Fern a trusted partner for couples seeking expert-led floral design with a personal touch.

What about your business are you most proud of?
I’m the most proud of myself for creating my successful wedding business from scratch at just the age of 20! It’s such a big accomplishment and I cannot be more grateful for all the support I have received from my couples.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My No 1 tip has to be to listen & TRUST your florist! We have spent years in college gaining qualifications & experience of working within the industry… we know what flowers work well with each other, which flowers are in season at the time of your wedding, which flowers deal well in hot summer heat.
Lastly don’t always go for the cheapest quote; most of the time it’s too good to be true!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I absolutely love doing this for my brides, its a very touching addition to any wedding day! A locket with a departed loved ones image inside; tied onto the bridal bouquet handle so they too could be part of the couples special day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When you enquire with Thistle & Fern Florist we will email back and fourth; sending inspirational images and discussing the overall theme, aesthetic & requirements for your special day.
After we have discussed which package & any additional items you will require, I’ll put together a mood board of flowers I think would work well for your florals. This mood board focuses more on the colour palette than actual flowers. One month before your wedding I will place an order for your flowers and choose the best seasonal flowers which match your colour palette. If you want to have a certain flower for your special day as its sentimental for you & your partner, I will try my best to include it within your wedding flowers designs.
After I have sent you a quote and you’re 100% happy with it, I will require a 20% booking fee to secure your date in my diary & to cover any admin fees. Your final payment is due 1 month before your wedding. After you have signed your contract & paid your booking fee. I am available for contact right up until your wedding date, if you wish to add items at a later date or have any questions at all.
6 weeks before the wedding date I will contact you and go through any last minute details to make sure everything is in place for your special day.
