Thoughtful, Nature-Led Wedding Floristry
Based in Lymm, Cheshire, The Petal Story offers a personal and design-led approach to wedding flowers across Cheshire and the North West. Led by Sarah, each wedding is approached with care and intention—creating florals that feel connected to you, your setting, and the season.
Flowers are chosen not just for how they look, but for how they feel—soft, textural, and full of movement—bringing a natural, refined atmosphere to your day.
A Considered, Seasonal Approach
Sustainability sits quietly at the heart of the work. Wherever possible, flowers are sourced from local Cheshire growers and British farms, celebrating what’s naturally in season while reducing environmental impact.
That said, the focus is always on creating something truly beautiful—so carefully selected imports are used when needed to achieve the right look and feel.
From the first conversation, time is taken to understand you and your plans, ensuring your flowers feel personal, thoughtful, and completely in tune with your day.
Floral Design, Tailored to Your Day
Every wedding is designed individually, with a focus on creating a cohesive, immersive feel—whether that’s something understated and elegant or full and abundant.
Designs often include:
Most couples invest between £1,000–£3,000+ on their wedding flowers, with each proposal thoughtfully tailored to suit your plans.
With years of experience across Cheshire and the North West, Sarah brings a calm, thoughtful presence alongside a strong creative eye—ensuring your flowers feel effortless, considered, and truly special.
Ooooooh so many!!! But it was possibly one of my first ever larger weddings I created pieces for at Gorton Monastery back in 2016. It was autumn and the bride and groom were fabulous and let me have free reign on my designs, so I went for fresh vibrant chinese lanterns with gorgeous orange gerberas and softer yellow and burnt orange tones with ample foliage, plus dried fruits and pine cones... it was a perfect autumn combination and I knew from that second this was my calling!
Unstructured, relaxed, natural, individual, emotive
I am so proud that it is purely my own business, and I always get to be the one creating the pieces for my clients. Every single time I feel the most incredible emotion when I hand over the bridal bouquet on their big day
Relax and enjoy it! Focus on all the things that you both love, and everything else will fit right around you. You don't have to have a theme, you can have as many different narratives as you like! This is your day. Take your time to pick the right suppliers and meet with them, then trust them to create more than your dreams.
So so many to choose from again! But perhaps one that sticks with me was when the groom made a huge three tier chocolate fudge wedding cake, delivered and decorated it all by himself. It was completely different from any other wedding cake I had seen and it was just fabulous for so many reasons!
I always like to get to know my couples as much as possible so I can make sure what I am creating is perfect for you. This would likely involve meeting up or having an initial chat, with exchanges of images and ideas, and then creating an initial quotation with no obligation. It's so great to meet or talk to both of you, but it's also totally fine if just one half prefers to deal with the floral design. There is not one ounce of judgment here - just a total passion to create your dream! Whatever works for you works for me.
This is such a sad one sorry, but it was the bride's father's cufflink. He had sadly passed away just before her wedding but she knew she had a piece of him with her when she walked down the aisle.
All flowers have special symbolism! The language of flowers is as old as time, and is internationally understood. They are such an important part of a wedding (I am slightly biased I know!)
The one that makes your heart skip a little more than the rest!
So many wonderful options, I love this question! You can give away your centrepieces (to family or a care home, or friends!) and for your bridal bouquet you can have it professionally dried and framed, or pressed, or even made into a beautiful glass ball paperweight. You can also have your bridal bouquet painted. Shall I go on?!
