What is your most memorable wedding?
My own wedding - I was able to create flowers that I absolutely loved. Bursting with peonies and spring blooms, our wedding in April was a feast for the eyes. It gave me a new found respect for Brides planning their big day and helped me to get a deeper understanding of Brides and planning their big day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Wild, Elegant, Rustic, Chic, Natural
What about your business are you most proud of?
We started off as a family run business and we are to this day still family owned and run. I am proud to be able to include more of my family in the business as we go from strength to strength.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Planning is key. If you have a plan in place and discuss everything with your partner, you will be guaranteed a stress-free, gorgeous day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love vows that have been written by the Bride and Groom.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I love to meet with the couple, at a place convenient for them, to discuss all of their ideas and needs. We spend 1-2 hours on the initial consultation getting all of our ideas down. I love to offer input and advice, and it means I can tailor their flowers to their personality and style. After the initial consultation I draw up a moodboard with each individual flower I propose we include, as well as some styled images as a representation of my thoughts. Alongside this I offer a fully itemised quotation which allows you to see the cost of each idea that we have discussed. If you'd love to work with us then we get you booked in and spend the following months sorting out the nitty gritty details.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
I love using succulents and proteas - their texture, shape and colour just adds something really special.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
I always think its important to use flowers that are symbolic to each individual couple. I like to discuss family, memories and favourites to make sure each couple has a selection of flowers that really mean something to them.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I love a peony - they're fluffy and romantic and so full of love.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
I always recommend my brides gift their flowers to loved ones as a thank you for all their help on the big day. Its also a lovely idea to get your bridal bouquet preserved as a reminder of your special day.
