What is your most memorable wedding?
Do you know, I couldn't pick just one, there are truly memorable moments from each and every one of our weddings and they are all so different. The most memorable part of each wedding is the moment I present the bridal bouquet to the bride to be, their reaction, and whether I end up in tears (happy ones obvs) too!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Abundant, Whimsical, Romantic, non conformist
What about your business are you most proud of?
The testimonials we receive, and consistently providing floral design above and beyond expectation.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have an idea of your maximum budget for flowers before you attend the consultation with your florist, we are naturally creative people with imaginations that tend to run a little wild, we all want to create that perfect, money no object, pinterest wedding. We can absolutely create gorgeousness, whatever the budget and the last thing we want is for you to be heartbroken when your quote comes in. If we know what we have to work with from the get go, everyone is happy!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A bride had lost her mum who loved butterflies, she provided us with a gorgeous sepia image which we were able have printed onto a silk butterfly and include in her bouquet design, we also created a replica bouquet in silk which the bride placed at her mums grave on the morning of the wedding, I tear up thinking of it now.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Most of our enquiries reach us via email and instagram (though we are more than happy to talk on the phone!). We send out an enquiry form to fill in and book you in for a consultation at our lovely cosy barn, we chat through your ideas and send you out a bespoke quote and mood board, should you then wish to confirm your booking we ask for a deposit of 20% of your estimated costs to secure the date, post out your receipt of booking and a little gift to say thank you for choosing us! We are then on hand throughout your wedding planning via phone, email or in person, whether you are booking three weeks or three years in advance, it may be necessary to organise a venue visit and further consultations down the line if required, we then confirm final details and invoice your final balance three weeks before the wedding date and then you can expect to see us bright and early on your wedding day sporting a van full of beautiful blooms, we will make ourselves available to move arrangements on the day if required, for example from church to reception. We also clear down the day after for you leaving you nothing to worry about.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
We often use feathers, berries, fruits and foraged material. I think my personal favorite would have to be kumquats!
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
It would actually be a foliage, Rosemary, which is sacred in many cultures, was thought to be a "love charm" in the middle ages, it also symbolises remembrance. It also has the benefit of being beautifully scented and its specific perfume is believed to help with stress, which is definitely a bonus. It works brilliantly in buttonholes and flower crowns and can easily be tucked into floral designs and bouquets.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
It would have to be the English Garden Rose, highly perfumed, soft blousy petals... the epitome of Romance.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
We will, wherever possible, try and arrange the flowers so that they can be taken away by the wedding party to appreciate at home and we just collect any hired vessels used. We always provide vases at the venue to display the Bridal and Bridesmaid Bouquets creating additional decor and keeping your blooms happy fresh and looking beautiful, you may wish to have your bouquet preserved (we are happy to recommend services), to place it on the grave of a lost loved one or if you would prefer we will collect the flowers, rearrange and donate to the residents at Cransley hospice in Kettering so the enjoyment of your wedding flowers can be spread just that little bit further.
