Some weddings just stay with you — and India and Hugo’s magical celebration on the Isle of Mull is one I’ll never forget. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Glengorm Castle, their day was a perfect blend of grandeur, intimacy, and wild Scottish beauty.
Surrounded by sweeping sea views, moody skies, and the untamed landscape of Mull, the setting alone felt like a fairytale. The castle itself was full of charm, history, and warmth — the kind of venue that completely wraps you in atmosphere the moment you arrive.
India’s vision was elegant but natural, with flowers that echoed the textures and tones of the landscape — soft, romantic, and a little bit wild. Every detail felt thoughtful and personal, and there was a real sense of calm throughout the day — no rush, just joy.
There’s something incredibly special about destination weddings like this, where everyone makes the journey and fully immerses in the celebration. I felt so welcomed by the couple and their families, and it was a genuine privilege to be part of something so heartfelt and beautiful.
It's weddings like India and Hugo’s that remind me why I love what I do — creating something that not only adds beauty to a space, but captures the spirit of the day.

I’m proud that Posy Posy brings people together—whether that’s creating something beautiful for a wedding day or giving someone the space to slow down and enjoy learning a new skill. It’s all about thoughtful details and genuine moments.
Focus on how you want the day to feel—not just how it looks. The best weddings reflect the couple, not Pinterest. Trust your instincts, choose suppliers you connect with, and let go of the pressure for perfection. It’s about joy, not checklists.
One of my favorite personal touches I’ve seen at a wedding was the way the bride incorporated her parents into her bouquet. Her father had sadly passed away the year before, and her mother was living with very advanced dementia, so they couldn’t attend. To honor them, I wrapped a delicate necklace engraved with their initials around the bouquet. It was such a meaningful detail—not only a beautiful nod to her parents but also a way for the bride to feel truly connected to them on her special day. There were many other heartfelt tributes throughout the wedding, but being able to include that small, intimate piece in the floristry made me really proud to be part of something so personal and emotional.
1. Initial Chat
We start with an informal conversation—often over a coffee or video call. I love to hear about the couple’s story, their vision for the day, and any flowers, colours, or memories that are meaningful to them. It's also a great time to talk through any venues or themes they’re working with.
2. Mood & Inspiration
After our chat, I’ll put together a visual mood board or floral inspiration sheet. This helps bring the ideas to life and ensures we're on the same page aesthetically—whether that's wild and whimsical, minimal and modern, or something completely different.
3. Proposal & Quote
I then send over a detailed proposal with suggested flower choices, arrangements (bouquet, buttonholes, installations, etc.), and a transparent quote. I like to include a mix of practical info and creative flair so it’s easy to understand and get excited about.
4. Refining & Confirming
We fine-tune things together—maybe tweaking colours, adding an extra arrangement, or adjusting to seasonal availability. Once the couple’s happy, we lock everything in and confirm the booking.
5. The Lead-Up
In the weeks before the wedding, I’ll check in with final timings, logistics, and any last-minute updates. I liaise with the venue and other suppliers as needed to keep everything seamless.
6. The Wedding Day
On the day, I handle all the setup—delivering bouquets, dressing the ceremony and reception spaces, and making sure everything looks just right. I love being a calming presence on the morning and adding those special final touches.
It’s always an honour to be trusted with such an important part of the day, and I do everything I can to make the flowers feel full of meaning, beauty, and love.
One of the most interesting and personal touches I’ve included in a bouquet—aside from the necklace wrapped around the stems—was juniper berries for a couple who owned a gin company. It was such a subtle yet meaningful nod to their story, as gin was not only their shared passion but also how they first met. Including juniper, the key botanical in gin, felt like a quiet tribute tucked among the blooms—something that would mean the world to them even if no one else noticed. It’s those small, thoughtful details that I love most—adding depth and connection to the flowers beyond just how they look.
One I often recommend is the sweet pea. It symbolises gratitude and blissful pleasure, which feels so fitting for a wedding—celebrating love, joy, and the people who helped bring the day together.
One of the most romantic flowers, in my opinion, is the parrot tulip. With its ruffled, painterly petals and unexpected curves, it feels full of character and emotion—elegant, but with a touch of drama.
Parrot tulips aren’t polished or overly perfect, which is exactly why they’re so romantic.
After the wedding, one of the loveliest ways to keep the memories blooming is to press or dry your flowers. It’s such a meaningful way to hold onto a piece of the day—and I offer this as a service if you’d like your bouquet professionally preserved.
If you’d rather try it yourself, I’m always happy to share tips on how to press or dry your flowers at home, depending on the varieties and what you’d like to create. Some couples frame a few special stems, turn them into art, or even have them worked into keepsakes.
Whether you want a fully finished piece or just a little guidance, I love helping couples give their flowers a second life.
