Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
We pride ourselves on not having a "unique style" but rather working directly with our couples to understand their vision and bring their dream florals to life. We have worked to many different design briefs including Contemporary, Traditional, English County Garden, Green & Sustainable, as well as all manner of colour palettes and seasonal offerings.
What about your business are you most proud of?
As a relatively young company in the grand scheme of things, established in 2010, we are most proud of how our business has grown since it's humble beginnings working at a kitchen table, to now being one of the most reputable florists in London. We are recommended suppliers at many of the world's most famous and recognisable Museums, Galleries and Palaces, as well as a preferred supplier for some of the industry's top wedding planners.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't worry if you don't know much about flowers, that's our job and we are here to help you! Even if your starting point is "I don't like roses" or "I saw this image and I liked it", that's great, we can work on that!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love when couples combine personal touches that reflect who they are as a couple or where they come from. We once had a wedding that combined South African, English, Japanese and Australian inspired flowers into their final floral selection to represent each of their heritage and the life they were building together. The final combination was unique and perfectly befitting to them.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We know that planning a wedding involves pulling many elements together, so we try to keep our process as simple as possible. From your initial enquiry you will have a dedicated Wedding Designer with you every step of the way, through to delivering your flowers on the Big Day.
Following your enquiry, your Designer will set up a meeting or phone call to find out all about you, your wedding plans and your vision for the day. From here, they will create a bespoke proposal, blooming with ideas specifically with you in mind. We will then use this proposal to develop ideas, based on your feedback, until we have everything just right.
Our design process is collaborative, and whilst we lead with creative design based on seasonality, floral artistry and your chosen venue, we value your input to ensure we have wedding flowers perfectly befitting to you. No couple is ever the same, and we don’t think your wedding flowers should be either.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
We've put many interesting things into bouquets, but one unusual flower varieties that springs to mind is a lime green spider chrysanthemum. Not a common choice for a wedding bouquet, but our bride was getting married wearing an antique, Chinese embroidered veil to reflect her mother's Chinese heritage, and this was one of the main flowers featured in the design. We even made her a bespoke floral crown full of them to match!
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Of course we have to say a peony! Did you know it represents happiness, romance, love and prosperity? We love it's soft elegance and pillowy beauty. So much so that we named the company after them!
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
We offer our couples several options for the flowers post-wedding.
If you would like guests to be able to take the flowers home, we can work with you during the design process to make sure they are easily transportable.
Any flowers that come back to our studio are donated directly to the Floral Angels, a not-for-profit organisation who repurpose flowers to take to hospices, care homes, shelters and other worthy organisations to bring a little sunshine to their day. The Floral Angels work directly from our studio, twice a week.
Any plants that return from weddings are donated to a local primary school, Herbert Morrison, for their 'Natural Thinkers Garden'. A previously unkept space with no funding for it's maintenance, the Garden is now thriving with plants and flowers thanks to our Pinstripes & Peonies Gardeners, who visit once a fortnight.
