Olive May Floral Design Full Description
We are not your traditional florist by any means, and that is what we pride ourselves on. We embrace texture, fragrance, colour, and a higher grade of flower choice to ensure you are thrilled by the blooms you receive, whether that be for a special occasion or your wedding day. Wherever possible we keep it British and use British grown blooms which sometimes brings unusual and not the run-of-the-mill flowers through our doors. This is one of the many things we love about sourcing from British growers! We also source Dutch-grown blooms from our friends over in Holland, which are just as beautiful. When sourcing our flowers for our events or special occasions wherever possible I am there in person in the early hours to make sure the quality of the flowers are the absolute best. Let us create the most perfect, romantic, and luxurious bouquet for you to walk down the aisle with. And decorate your venue with the most sumptuous elegant floral designs that will give the wow factor your wedding deserves. It all begins with a wedding consultation, here we look at colour palettes, material swatches, flower varieties and discuss the overall tone and theme of your day so we can get a feel of what you are wishing for. We’ll then put together a design scheme that will compliment you both as a couple.

FAQs

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, Fragrant, Textured, Luxurious, Romantic

What about your business are you most proud of?

Getting to work at a number of favourite venues I've wanted to work at for a number of years and for brides to book me for my style and for me. That makes me proud as punch!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book the suppliers you connect with and love their work. You do you and drown out the outside noise of other peoples opinions.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

The couple will enquire, I will send them my enquiry form to complete. I do a 48 hour quote with what information they have sent through. If they are happy to continue then I ask for a booking fee to confirm the date and then do a more in depth quote and mood board for the couple . We then have a further consultation 6-8weeks before the wedding date to confirm all the details and take final balance payment. Once booked I am on hand for any questions the couple may have through out the process. It is a very informal and personable service thats tailored around the couple.

Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?

I always suggest if there is a specific flower that mum or nan/grandma had in their bouquet that they would want to tie into the bouquet or a specific flower from the bride or grooms heritage such as Thistle for Scottish.

What is the most romantic flower and why?

This is so hard to answer as there is so many flowers out there and certain flower types mean romance to different people. For me it has to be the garden rose, Peony, Ranunculus the pattern here being all the ruffles of the petals, the colours and the scent of the Roses.
