Lydie Dalton Floral Design Full Description
I am a floral designer with a love of exquisite flowers such as romantic peonies, blowsy hydrangeas, heavenly scented English and French roses to create timeless elegant designs. Brought up in Southern France in a family of fruit and flower growers, I have an innate understanding of nature. Moving to Paris and then to England meant that I followed a different career path but spent every free hours growing flowers and falling in love with mid-summer's English gardens. My style combines quintessential English garden style with French chic to create bespoke designs. My approach is to work with you in a personal manner offering an initial free consultation to discuss your ideas. Having married recently I understand too well the importance of having the confidence that your special day will be enhanced by the most stunning flowers.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

A beautiful country wedding in Provence, in the South of France.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Romantic, scented, chic, luxurious, abundant

What about your business are you most proud of?

I pride myself in delivering exactly what my clients want, taking the time to understand what they are looking for. I also take great care in sourcing the most exquisite flowers from reputable growers including local and regional growers.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Follow your dreams and enjoy every bit of the planning! Don't get stressed, there's lots of help at hand.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A colour or a flowers that has a very personal meaning, could be a memory of a special moment with your loved one, such as visiting a garden or a city abroad, or the season when you met...

Describe your typical process with a couple.

My approach is a personal one with a free initial consultation with no obligation. My role is to provide as much guidance on the choice of flowers and designs or as little as is required by the bride and groom for their flowers. Overall my role is to achieve what the couple is dreaming of for their flowers and to ensure that these are stunning and make a lasting impression. After the initial consultation if the couple decide they would like me to create their wedding floral designs, I will personally spend time to create their own individual mood board to complement the theme of your wedding. I will be happy to suggest vases, vessels and table decorations and to visit the venue with the couple so that we can together visualise how the flowers will look and how they will make a lasting impression.

What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?

I like to use velvet and hand-tied silk ribbons and sometimes I attach a small charm or piece of jewelery that has a special meaning to the bride.

Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?

The rose, a scented one! The rose symbolises love and passion, so very befitting for a wedding.

What is the most romantic flower and why?

A gorgeous garden rose for its evocative scent, its voluptuous beauty

What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?

Share them with those you love - give your floral arrangements for your family and guests to take away. I gave all of mine away (apart from my wedding bouquet and my daughter's floral crown) as presents to my family and friends and they were very touched.
