What is your most memorable wedding?
Wow this is tough I can think of so many weddings, some because of my amazing couples who are now friends, to others who had the most beautiful flower choice.
I would pick Fran & Jack's wedding they were due to get married in the first lockdown (May 2020) and they decided to put their wedding on hold. However they celebrated on what was their original wedding date with a few of the suppliers providing catering and of course a beautiful vase of flowers from me. We stayed in touch and they contacted me to say they were going to get married in October when the restrictions were lifted. We were determined to make it magical.
The brief was 'Luxe Rose' Fresh-from-the-garden, fragrant, lush and dreamy florals creating a refreshing and romantic styling. It was so romantic and with a smaller guest list, they were able to make the guest experience all the richer. They had 15 guests and they spoilt them with each of their guest receiving a buttonhole or corsage to make them feel special.
The tablescape had beautiful champagne truffles, each guest got a handcrafted mini scented eucalyptus wreath for each setting which guests were able to dry as a memorable token of the special day. It was complimented with a garland of fragrant eucalyptus running the length of the table with stunning roses dotted throughout. Dinner candles were added to give a soft lighting to the event and complimented the flower bowl arrangements with garden roses, ruffled 'juliet', pretty 'quicksand' roses and ‘snow ballet’ spray roses. It also had an array textures with 'Un Ofir' Chamelaucium, fluffy asparagus fern and 'green bell' pennycress.
'Everything you did was just stunning, but I have to say the table for meal took my breath away when I walked in. I know that Fran feels exactly the same, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much for help making our day so very special'

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I see so many lovely things but one of my favourites was a couple who had taken the time to collect photographs of all their guests and create polaroids for place cards each guest had to find a photograph of themselves. Another was a couple who had an intimate gathering and asked me to make all their guest a buttonhole or corsage. As the guest arrived I pinned all the flowers on as part of my flower concierge service.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Your wedding flower journey begins with a consultation. The purpose of this meeting is to get to know you as a couple, so we can translate these into your beautiful fresh florals. You will then receive your personalised quote. Our priority is you, once you have booked your wedding florals with Jacqui O, you enter our ‘Inner sanctum’ where on the count down to your big day we offer support, inspirational ideas and top tips but most importantly support your flower journey with timely reminders to ensure your wedding day is filled with a joyous atmosphere and ‘wow’ moments and not forgetting the breathtaking florals!
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
We create beautiful crafted florals which reflect and celebrate our client's individuality and unique personal style. One of my personal favourites was a client who had a collar of white feathers surrounding her bouquet. The bride's mother had past away and she wanted to make sure her mother was with her on the day. Her mother would always pick up a white feather and say an angel was sending a message of love.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?
Flowers have lots of meaning, some clients choose flowers that are personal to them because it was their grandma's favourite or they grew in their parents garden whilst others following the language of flowers. Having dahlia's is a symbol of a commitment and a bond that will last forever. Orchids are a symbol of beauty, love and fertility whilst roses are the symbol of romance, love and beauty.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I love all flowers so this is a tough call. Today I would say a scented garden rose, so every time you smell that bloom you will think of your special day but tomorrow I may say something different.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
I offer my clients a have a number of choices:
🌸 Enjoy your favourite flowers from your wedding, take them home and surrounded yourself with natures beauty.
🌸 Share the love send your guest home with a token from the day from an arm full of flowers to a table centrepiece.
🌸 Donate the flowers to the local community either a local hospices or care home.
