FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

All the weddings I have done are memorable because every couple is different and therefore so is every wedding and everyone's floral decor.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Quality. Bespoke. Personal.

What about your business are you most proud of?

I started my floristry business in my forties, having spent 20+ years as a PA - those skills come in extremely handy still but finally being able to use my creativity is fabulous!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

All florists do wedding flowers - the key is finding the right florist for YOU - the person who gets your ideas, helps develop them into your dream florals, in a way that you trust them 100%.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

All of my florals, whether gift bouquets, funeral flowers or wedding flowers are bespoke, no menu flowers here. Everything is personal.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We start with an initial consultation to discuss your date, requirements and initial ideas – we can do this face to face, via telephone, Zoom or email. I will provisionally hold your date in my diary and produce a flower board of suggestions, ideas and indicative costings for you to review. We can then build further on this. If your wedding is a year or more away we revisit nearer the time, I can also produce wedding florals at short notice so do get in touch. If you decide that I’m the florist for you, a non-refundable booking fee of £100 secures the date. Changes can be made up to 6 weeks before the wedding date and 1 week before the wedding, I will contact you and the venue(s) if appropriate to reconfirm delivery times and details. I have relationships with trusted suppliers if you need recommendations for photographers, car hire etc and also work closely with a local event hire company so can take care of all those little extra details to complement your style and florals. Whether its tealights, candlesticks, chair sashes, blossom trees and much more, I can source these for you. I collect, set up and deliver back so that’s another thing off of your ‘to do’ list.

What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?

Rosemary is often included in bouquets as a symbol of remembrance for guests no longer with us. I have also included a brooch given to a bride by her child, flowers given to a bride when she received her proposal.

Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for couples?

Many flowers have meanings (see my blog on my website) but for me what's important is that special flower or scent that means something to the couple, not necessarily my favourites.

What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?

As part of the conversations with my couples, we talk about what happens afterwards (its often useful to have a delegated guest who collects and stores flowers). Hand tied bouquets can be kept by guests, placed on graves, pressed or preserved by recommended companies.
