Having been raised by wonderfully green-fingered parents, I’ve heard the call of the wild from a young age. However, it wasn’t until I was in my late twenties that I found the way to answer that call. I moved back to my family home in the forest to retrain as a florist, and have found a career that enlivens me. I love the way floristry allows me to unleash my inner artist. Putting together displays of seasonal colour and texture is at once fiercely creative and immeasurably soothing, and being able to create wedding flowers that play a part in people’s happiest memories makes it all the more rewarding.
I’m very lucky to be able to work from my garden studio in the heart of Broadwater Forest.
Inspiration from the wild is never far away, and should a creative block threaten to strike, then a walk among the trees is the perfect pick-me-up. I’ve spent years cultivating a cutting garden, and during the summer months I always add pieces from it to my bouquets and arrangements – whether it be wispy sweet pea tendrils, delicate grasses or beautifully scented herbs. It’s my secret signature and a piece of my home for each of my couples, to wish them well on their wedding day.
