What is your most memorable wedding?
I have worked on loads of fantastic weddings - I always enjoy an unusual brief and two that stick out in my mind are:
- Getting to make the entire aisle look like a wild flower hedgerow growing out of the ground for an early summer wedding. It really did look amazing and made such an impact.
- Carving by hand loads of pumpkins in to lanterns and tea-light holders for an Autumnal themed wedding. I have never been covered in so much pumpkin goo in my life but it was worth it for the look on the bride's face when she saw all those beautiful lanterns!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Pinterest and Instagram are fantastic for getting inspiration - but it can be tricky to know the actual cost of recreating something similar to those gorgeous images. If you have a set budget in mind don't be afraid of making this clear from the outset. This way I can make sure I'm not going to quote for things that will completely blow your budget, and I can only suggest things that will stick within your budget but still look gorgeous and match your vision for the day. There's nothing more disheartening than getting a quote back that is way over what you imagined!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The first step is to drop me an email so I can book you in for a consultation; either in-person at my Guiseley, Leeds-based studio or virtually via Zoom. We can get to know each other and talk over all your ideas and inspiration. I believe inspiration can come from anywhere so as well as your beautiful Pinterest board, I love to hear about how you met, your favourite films or books, your love of travelling, going for hikes, music, your pet dogs or going to festivals together (or whatever it is that makes you two unique and made you fall in love) and I can use all of this to bring your day to life.
After our discussion, I will then get back to you with a detailed quote. This will include me hand delivering your bouquets to where you are getting ready, and for me and my fabulous team of freelancers transform your venue and return the following day to clear everything down again, so you can relax and enjoy spending your day with your loved ones.
If you do decide to become a Bureau Botany couple; as well as your One Tree Planted trees, you will also receive a custom wedding pack with inspiration pictures, colour palettes and a mood-board of the flowers I am planning on using to help you visualise it all.Once I have received your deposit you will get your bespoke wedding pack from me; this includes breakdowns of everything we've discussed as well as mood-boards for styling and flower colour palettes to help you visualise everything.
We will then have another consultation about 2 or 3 months before the date to go over everything in a bit more detail, check if anything's changed and firm up timings for the day. And between booking and final consultation I am of course contactable by email at any time if you have any questions or need some support.
During the week leading up to your wedding you will have a team dedicated to making and creating everything for your day. On the day we will set everything up, wait and move anything from one location to another during the day if required, and we will return and clear everything down the next day so you can relax and enjoy your wedding knowing everything is taken care of.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Our imaginations really are the limit here. I love creating meaningful florals that have special significance to you, or unusual florals that aren't quite what people expect. I have had a bride request mini cabbages in her bouquet, and a bride that wanted a certain rose that reminded her of her grandma. I had a bride that just wanted out-of-the-ordinary flowers, and when I delivered her bouquets on the day I delighted at her bridesmaid's reaction that she had never seen flowers like them before. Mission accomplished!
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I absolutely love garden roses - they have a gorgeous vintage look to them as well as the most beautiful scent. You can get them in so many delicate colours, they are a firm favourite of mine.
