My most memorable wedding was in a cemetery! A woodland clearing at the top of a hill above the cemetery which has a dedicated structure for weddings, it was so beautifully decorated. We were asked to decorate the Brides whole journey through the path in the woods with flowers. We had a huge hanging ball of flowers to a 12 foot meadow of flowers ribbons and floral crowns adorning trees and pew ends that covered the handrails up the path. The most unusual element was a wedding dress floating from a tree with a bridal bouquet. This was definitely a unique wedding.
Natural, flowing, romantic, unique and beautiful
I am proud of our personal service and that we end up being friends with so many of our couples, with them coming back to us for other special events too. We love our business and I think our couples can see that.
This has to be to book the people you get on well with, as they will be the ones you trust to help make your day really special.
My favourite personal touch I have seen at a wedding was one where every table at the reception had 2 extra chairs so that the wedding couple could join any table of guests comfortably.
The first consultation is at my workshop at my home where over a cuppa we discuss all the lovely things you want for your wedding day and how you want it to look. From there I send a quote, once you have decided that you want to book me as your florist then I provide you with more details about the flowers, look and themes for your day. We have a final consultation one month before your wedding day to discuss all the logistics and finer details for your special day. On your wedding day I am around to attach buttonholes, calm nerves and generally wish you well by placing all your gorgeous flowers.
I am often asked to attach items to bouquets, these include miniature frames with images of lost loved ones, Brooches, Disney characters and even a gun cartridge! Although the gun cartridges are more usually requested for the Groom’s buttonhole.
Let me know your favourite flowers and we can find their meanings, it is lovely to have flowers in your bouquet that secretly speak to you. Often I will include rosemary for people who have lost someone as it stands for remembrance.
All flowers have their own meanings, such as the lilac rose which indicates new love and the red rose true love. My personal favourite is the Nigella flower more commonly known as love in a mist and has the meaning of honour, love and strong bonds.
I would recommend that you carefully take the bouquet apart and press the flowers. Once they are flat and dried you can arrange them in a frame.
