What about your business are you most proud of?
I started up on my own with the intention to take the pressure off of couples worried about the first dance but at an affordable price. I have grown so much quicker than expected and am now surrounded by a passionate, dedicated and lovely team, and I have truly loved every single experience with each couple I have met. Every couple is different but each and every one have loved their classes and kept in contact with videos and photos afterwards after being so proud of doing their dance. It’s a great feeling being a part of such a special day and knowing you have helped build the confidence in one of the parts of the day that couples tend to feel most nervous about. It’s also a real bonding experience for the couples leading up to the wedding. So much of a wedding lead up can be rushed and a bit of a whirlwind, my dance lessons being in the couples own home give them a chance to relax into each other’s arms for 90mins and just enjoy each other’s company and learn something new together. Its also very de-stressing for them. It’s lovely to watch and be a part of.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don’t Panic! On the day the little things won’t matter. And make sure you find time to enjoy each other on your day as well as see all the guests etc.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The first dance song choice is always most interesting to me, especially when there is a story behind it. It really makes a difference.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It depends on the package booked.
I like to get to know the couple before our first session so I can be sure I am personalising their dance to them the best I can. I will start lessons off very basic and slow and then build up and layer the routine as the lessons progress.
What is your No. 1 top tip for keeping a crowd entertained?
Smile, relax and just enjoy your day. Your guests just want to see that you’re having the best time, they’re all there to share what should be the happiest day of your life so just let the little things go and really enjoy every moment with your loved ones.
Where is the most memorable place you have performed?
Dancing at the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony at The Olympic Stadium
Have you had any interesting surprises at a wedding?
My job tends to usually be the wedding surprise
