I'm Mark Waddington, The Yorkshire Wedding Magician.
I've been performing professionally for more than 20 years and have now been part of over 1,700 weddings. In that time I've learned that being a great wedding magician involves quite a lot more than simply being good at magic.
I specialise in what magic can do for a wedding.
That might mean breaking the ice between two families during your drinks reception, keeping everyone entertained while you're away having photographs, creating brilliant moments between courses or keeping the atmosphere going as your evening guests begin to arrive.
My style is modern, relaxed, funny and completely interactive. There's no stage, no formal show and absolutely nothing cheesy. I simply work naturally around your guests, creating the kind of reactions that very quickly get people talking.
After 1,700+ weddings, I also understand how wedding days actually work. Timings change, photographs overrun and dinner occasionally has its own ideas about the schedule. I'll work around your venue, photographer and other suppliers without you needing to manage me.
I'm an Associate of The Inner Magic Circle with Silver Star and a multi-award-winning Wedding Entertainer of the Year. I'm enormously proud of those things, but on your wedding day the bit you'll probably appreciate most is simply knowing you're in experienced hands.
Every wedding booking also includes something I keep exclusively for the two of you: a private performance away from your guests, completely different from anything they've seen, ending with a unique keepsake for you to take home.
Wedding magic starts from £495, with half-day and all-day experiences also available.
If you're looking for someone to simply turn up and perform a few tricks, there are plenty of magicians who can do that.

What does a wedding magician actually do?
I perform modern, close-up magic right in front of your guests, creating unforgettable moments of surprise, laughter, and connection. It’s not a “stage show” - it’s interactive entertainment that happens in the hands of your guests, making them part of the experience.
When during the wedding is a magician best suited?
The most popular time is during the drinks reception, when guests are mingling and photos are being taken. I also perform during the wedding breakfast between courses, keeping energy high and guests entertained throughout.
Will a magician suit our wedding if some guests are shy or don’t like attention?
Absolutely. My style is relaxed, friendly, and never intrusive. Guests can engage as much or as little as they like, and even the most sceptical or reserved guests usually end up being the most amazed.
How many guests can you entertain?
I typically perform in small groups, moving around to ensure as many guests as possible experience the magic. For larger weddings, I can advise on timings to make sure everyone is included.
Have you performed at many weddings before?
Yes, I’ve performed at thousands of weddings across Yorkshire and beyond over the past 15+ years. Every wedding is different, and I bring experience, professionalism, and adaptability to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Do you need a lot of space or special setup?
Not at all. Close-up magic is completely self-contained, so I can perform anywhere - standing groups, around tables, indoors or outdoors - with no setup required.

Yes, I can adapt my style and approach to suit your day. Whether you want something relaxed and subtle or more high-energy and lively, I’ll fit seamlessly into your plans.
How far in advance should we book?
Popular dates, especially summer weekends, get booked up well in advance. I’d always recommend securing your date as early as possible to avoid missing out.
