HOW LIVE ILLUSTRATION WORKS ON THE DAY
I arrive at the venue 45 minutes before the ceremony/ drinks reception to set up. I photograph your guests as they arrive, whether they come solo, with a partner/ friend, or as a family. Working from photos allows me to create detailed and personalised illustrations while you and your guests are free to enjoy the day! Your guests are welcome to watch me paint throughout the day, which adds a unique and creative twist to your wedding entertainment. The paintings I complete on the day are pegged to my display, ready for your guests to take home at the end of the night as the perfect memory of your amazing day.
ILLUSTRATION DETAILS
Guest illustrations are A6 in size and are hand-painted in watercolour and ink on professional paper. Guests are drawn in a combination of fun fashion poses, or as they are posing in the photo, capturing their personalities and amazing outfits!
Adults are usually drawn holding a sparkling glass of celebratory champagne; however, this can be changed to a drink of your choice! Every painting can feature a personalised stamp of your choice and is packaged in a waterproof protective sleeve.
YOUR SPECIAL KEEPSAKE
You will also receive an A5 framed illustration (option of black or white), which will be painted in my studio and posted 2-3 weeks after the wedding.

Where do you set up at the venue?
I am happy for a table to be setup wherever you prefer within the venue. This could be in the area where the reception drinks are held, or in a main room or corridor... it really depends on the venue! As evening falls, I do require a well-lit room or a location near a plug socket to use my light, ensuring that I can continue to provide high-quality work even in lower lighting conditions.
To help me create the best possible artwork on the day, I kindly ask that my illustration table is set up indoors. If an outdoor space is preferred, please make sure it is a sheltered spot to protect my art and materials.
Please ensure the venue is notified in advance that I will need a table providing (min 4ft wide).
How many people do you draw per painting?
For my A6 live illustrations, the maximum I can paint is usually around 6 people per painting! I try to encourage guests to take smaller group photos so more illustrations are created.
How far do you travel, and what are your travel costs?
Based in Nottingham, I predominantly cover the Midlands, however I do travel to other areas. If your venue is within a 15-mile radius of Wilford, there is no extra travel cost. For venues outside of this radius, please message me with the details of your venue, and I will provide you with a tailored travel cost. For venues located more than 90 miles away, an overnight stay may be required and will be discussed as part of the booking.
What happens if you don't finish illustrating all the guests?
I will do my upmost to get as many guests painted on the day as possible. I paint on average 5/6 people an hour depending on the complexity of the guests outfits, how many photos I need to take on the day and how interactive your guests are!
If I don’t manage to illustrate all your guests on the day, I will finish the remaining paintings in my studio and these will be posted along with your framed illustration. These illustrations are perfect to pop in with thank you cards after your wedding!
What guest package should I book?
I always recommend booking a package slightly under your day guest number. The reason for this is that not everyone may approach me for an illustration. However, If more guests come forward on the day, I’m happy to take photos and complete the extra illustrations later in my studio for £10 per guest.
If you don’t know your exact day guest numbers when booking, that is not a problem! You can book and decide your package at a later date.
How do I book you?
Booking a live Illustration package with me is a straightforward process. Simply send me a message/email with your wedding venue location and date so I can check availability. Once I confirm, please choose which illustration package best suits you. I will then send you a service agreement for signing. To secure your booking, a £150 deposit will be required.
How far in advance should we book?
My diary is open for bookings up to 2 years in advance. If your wedding or event is within this timeframe, I highly recommend booking as soon as possible to ensure your date is reserved. Keep in mind, your booking will only be confirmed once the contract has been signed and a deposit is paid.
