What is your most memorable wedding?
My own ! We got married in Kenya next to the beach, amazing setting and beautiful hotel.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Varied, casual, dressy, black - sorry can only think of 4 !
What about your business are you most proud of?
That myself and my daughter started the business together and have built it up ourselves. Also the feedback we get from our brides and their family and friends is amazing and so nice, means we are doing something right !
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't stress ! Everything is possible even on a budget. We are here to help take some of the stress away by making the process of choosing your bridesmaids dresses as easy as possible.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love fireworks, at a summer wedding when everyone goes outside and they light up the sky - love seeing the photos of this too, the happy couple gazing at the sky and the fireworks lighting up the sky !
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Usually the bride will come to the boutique with sometimes her mum or mother in law and usually at least one of her bridesmaids. We ascertain if there is already a colour scheme and then let the bride and her 'helpers' have a look through our selection of dresses. Normally they will have seen one or two online on either our social media or our website and we will make sure that any they have seen are tried on. Our bridesmaids can try on as many as they want. We stock all styles in a range of sizes and have some dresses in all sizes, we also stock at least one dress in each colour so that the exact colour can be seen rather than a swatch or a picture. We have a very large fitting room and a catwalk so that all bridesmaids can be seen together. We always get excellent feedback from our customers on the way we do appointments and the boutique. Also the fact that we specialise in bridesmaid dresses rather than it being an 'add-on' to our main business.
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the brides face when she finds the perfect bridesmaids dresses, such an emotional moment.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
I love fitted with a long train and an illusion back, prefer no sleeves.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
Well I had a little white garter with a touch of blue on it. I think the 'something blue' is well done as a hidden item, underwear, garter.
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
Have to say my own ! At the time I loved it. I think now I would probably go for something fitted with an illusion back and long train. Mine was determined by the heat in Kenya also as couldn't have something too heavy ! Looking forward to shopping for my daughters wedding dress when that day comes !
