Rose Savage Bridal Atelier Full Description
Established in 2011, By Rose Savage design studio is located in Bristol’s ‘Bohemian’ quarter, nestled between coffee bars and hip restaurants. Maybe you’ve visited various traditional bridal shops and tried on a few ‘nice’ dresses but your dream dress is nowhere to be found? The moment you walk through the door into my light and airy atelier you know you’ve entered a place where magic happens! The biggest part of having something custom made is that you don’t have to compromise on your personal style. Looking for a chic, 70s inspired bridal jumpsuit? No problem. Hand-dyed, kimono style, silk chiffon gown? I got you. Anything is possible when you take control of your wedding look, and I have a passion for making it happen. The process will start with an informal chat to discuss your ideas and inspirations and I’ll sketch up a few designs until we have something really special. With a huge range of fabric samples at my studio, you can feel and drape them to find the perfect ones to match your design. Whether it’s Sequins or Silks, Tulles or Taffeta, I source the most beautiful textiles so you can have a dress as individual as you are. The next step on the bespoke journey is creating a ‘toile’ or prototype of your outfit using your unique measurements so we can check the proportions and fit. Once the dress is made in the final fabrics we will keep fitting and tweaking until you are totally happy and it fits you like a glove. The process is totally collaborative and my brides have a say at every step of the process so you are in full control of your dress’s creation! If you’ve got a vision for your bridal outfit, get in touch and let’s make your daydream a reality!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

So hard to choose! I really love unusual wedding dress styles so when my bride, Anna, asked me to design a quirky, alternative ball gown in non-traditional fabric I jumped at the chance! We ended up designing an amazing off the shoulder, corseted ball gown made from Thai silk gingham!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Unconventional, Modern, Romantic, Glamorous, Unique

What about your business are you most proud of?

Quality of craftmanship. Everything I make is beautiful inside and out and I use couture techniques in my construction and fitting to get the very best finish on my gowns.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Work out which parts of your wedding are most important to you as a couple and prioritise them. It's all very well listening to friends and family but at the end of the day it's your wedding! Make sure it reflects your personalities!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love personalised embroidered veils! They are such a special reminder of your day and they can be saved and passed down to family to become a modern heirloom.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

The first step is a phone call or email exchange to really deep dive into exactly what the bride wants from her wedding outfit, her inspirations and how she wants to feel on the day. Following that I will invite them to my studio for a design consultation where I will sketch up some possible designs and we can look at fabric samples. After settling on 'THE DRESS' and after a quote has been accepted I will start working on the bespoke pattern using the brides measurements. I will then create a 'toile' or prototype of the dress to test the fit and proportions. Once the bride is totally happy with the design of her dress I can cut in the real fabrics! There are plenty of chances to tweak the dress over the process of getting a dress made and the bride is involved at every stage, usually we have at least 4 fittings to perfect it. At the end of the process the bride will leave my studio with their dream dress in a protective dress bag.

What is your favourite style of wedding dress?

It's changes all the time! But I'm currently loving big sleeves and flowing silk chiffon with some quirky details.
