I am a bespoke wedding dress maker, designer and wedding dress alterations specialist based in the beautiful village of Scissett, Denby Dale in West Yorkshire. With over 30 years’ experience as a bridal gown dressmaker creating beautiful, enchanting one-off unique wedding dresses for today’s modern bride. Having fallen in love with the art of dressmaking as a young girl, I was often found sketching wedding dresses, designing and making my first gown at the age of 16, so it was no surprise when I pursued a career in bridal fashion and making bespoke and couture wedding dresses
Valuing individuality, I love nothing more than creating a wedding dress which reflects your unique personality and flatters your shape. We work closely with our brides, we listen to your ideas of what you want and most importantly to what you do not want, in order to achieve your perfect fit. We have a great passion for handmade beautiful, elegant and graceful wedding dresses, created in our gorgeous bridal studio.
Bridal dress alterations come in many forms, as wedding dress styles can differ so much. Our experienced couture trained bridal gown seamstress and dressmaker understands exactly what it takes to expertly adjust your bridal dress and transform it into your perfect bridal gown. Our specialist alteration service comes highly recommended and will ensure you have the perfect fit! When you step into your wedding gown on your big day you will feel amazing and look fabulous!
Our dedicated bridal team will welcome you into our beautiful bridal studio in for your one to one bridal dress alterations appointment. Your wedding dress will be expertly fitted by our couture bridal gown seamstresses. We will discuss your requirements for your wedding dress alterations and offer suggestions for further improvements.
We will offer our advice and guidance and take the time to listen to your personal bridal alteration requirements – all in a warm and friendly environment. We would recommend booking your first wedding dress fitting 12-14 weeks prior to your wedding date or date of travel. We always welcome brides who wish to visit us prior to this for a free consultation to discuss your individual bridal dressmaking needs.

What is your most memorable wedding?
I would have to say my daughters! We design and handcrafted the dress she had always dreamed of, and created a multi tunnel effect using different shades of tulle the skirt.We also made 3 adult bridesmaid dresses, inspired by her grandmother's wedding dress from the 1960s. (and we don't make bridesmaids anymore) and also 4 vintage flower girl dresses. It was a very proud and emotional day for me.

What about your business are you most proud of?
We are proud to be in our 12th year as a small business and have built up a great reputation which means a lot of our brides are recommended to us from a previous happy bride!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
What do you love most about your job?
Watching the reactions we get from our brides, wether it's a bespoke gown we have created, or a bridal alteration when the dress fits like a glove. When the bride comes out of the fitting room the look on their face says enough!
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
We love creating wedding dresses which encompass the brides femininity.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
We often sew a little blue inside the gowns.
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
My favourite wedding dress of all time would have to be Princess Diana's, I know people say it was very creased, but I think that was part of it charm. It captured the whole spirit of the fairtayle wedding, and has probably inspired lots of brides over thelast 3 decades.
