Describe your typical process with a couple.
If the bride is after the dress then we send the groom to either the Café next door or the pub across the road. We will spend as long as the bride needs with her to make sure she has the perfect dress and accessories. It's usually about 90 minutes or so. 8 weeks before the wedding we arrange first fittings. When dresses are ready for the bride the last thing we do is steam it so it is perfect.
For all other planning we'll sit down with the couple and make a list of what they need, or would like. We can show them examples and displays. We can make appointments for them to see specific suppliers here at the shop or we can get the supplier to contact them direct. We don't push, we try to guide through the whole process. We don't take control, we help. All couples get a portfolio of information and can come to the shop, ring us or message us, at any time. We will always keep in touch and follow up any enquiries etc.
What do you love most about your job?
The look on a bride's face when she has found 'the dress' and seeing a wedding or event venue dressed to perfection. Looking at the photos after the wedding and knowing we helped make that day special.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
All of them
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
Blue on a garter, hidden ribbon under the dress, blue flowers in the bouquet or even in the jewellery. There is no 'best way', it is purely down to personality.
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
It's a tie between Princess Grace of Monaco, or Princess Anne (from her 1st marriage).
