I create bespoke wedding hats and wedding fascinators, specialising in elegant designs for the Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom. Working from my private Rose Garden Studio in Winchester, Hampshire, I offer one-to-one appointments where you can feel comfortable, unhurried and properly looked after
During your visit, we’ll look closely at your outfit, colours, accessories and the style of the wedding. Only then do I suggest suitable hat shapes, flattering proportions and colour combinations. My aim is always the same: to help you feel confident, elegant and perfectly put together for the big day.
You may choose from:
• Bespoke Millinery – A completely handmade hat created to order, with your colours and style taken carefully into account. I will design and make a hat to suit you and your outfit beautifully.
• Ready-to-Wear Collection – A curated selection of elegant perching hats and wedding fascinators available to buy immediately from my studio or online. Each one is handcrafted by me.
• Colour-Matching Expertise – I use a wide range of shade cards and fabric samples to match your colours precisely and ensure your hat complements, not competes with, your chosen outfit.
• A Little Something For Later? – A popular new idea for the Mother of the Bride: a full hat for the ceremony and reception, then a smaller fascinator or headband to change into as the evening celebrations begin.
• Advice on Fit & Proportion – I take great care to ensure your hat not only looks beautiful, but feels comfortable and secure all day.
Many clients make a weekend of their visit to Winchester when they order thier bespoke hat, enjoying the process as part of the memorable moments when planning the wedding. Customers enjoying the city’s historic charm, boutique shops and local hospitality. Once your hat is ready, I offer fitting and small adjustments at the time of collection to ensure everything sits perfectly before the wedding.

Experience
Can I bring my outfit to the appointment and what else should I bring?
Yes, if possible please bring as much with you as you wish - seeing everything in person allows me to match colours precisely and suggest hat shapes or wedding fascinators that will complement your look beautifully.
Please bring:
• your outfit (dress, jacket, pashmina)
• jewellery and shoes (if possible)
• a photo/sketch with a fabric swatch if you’re having your dress/outfit made and haven't collected it yet.
What is the difference between a bespoke hat and your ready-to-wear collection?
Bespoke: made especially for you after a one-to-one consultation. Handcrafted to match perfectly with your outfit - you can rest assured that no-one else will be in the same hat at the wedding!
Ready-to-wear: each one is unique piece is already made and available to buy from the studio and take away with you that day - or to have delivered for free when purchased through my online shop.
Do you make wedding fascinators as well as hats?
Yes - many clients prefer a lighter perching hat or fascinator for comfort. I offer bespoke and ready-to-wear wedding fascinators in a wide range of colours and styles.
How long does a bespoke hat take to make?
A bespoke Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom hat usually takes 6–10 weeks depending on materials and design. Booking early is always recommended.
Do I need an appointment to visit your studio?
Yes - all visits are by appointment only to ensure a calm, private experience. My Rose Garden Studio is in Winchester, Hampshire.
Can you make a matching hat and fascinator to take me from day to evening?
Yes - a really popular option is:
• a larger hat for the ceremony, photographs and reception
• a smaller fascinator or headband (using the same materials) to change into as the evening celebrations begin
This keeps your polished, smart and co-ordinated appearance looking Marvellous from day to evening!
How do I look after the hat after the wedding?
I provide a hatbox with every design and can advise on:
• safe storage
• long-term care
• light cleaning
Many hats can be worn again for future events or special occasions.
Do I need to know what style of hat I want before I visit?
Not at all. Most clients arrive unsure of what suits them best. I guide you gently through different shapes and proportions until we find a design that flatters you and feels just right. Trying on a few styles is often the best way to discover what you feel confident in. I have a wide selection of shapes, colours and trims in the studio, all available to experiment with during your appointment.
Do you design hats for the Mother of the Groom as well?
Yes absolutely! Mothers of the Groom are celebrating a significant day in their child's life too, and that is cause for a new special hat in my opinion as well! Each client receives personal one-to-one guidance and kind, reassuring expertise so you feel elegantly prepared for the day too.
Do you make hats for Royal Ascot as well as weddings?
Yes - I can design bespoke hats, and always have a wide range of ready-to-wear hats that are all perfectly suitable for the Royal Ascot dress codes.
