Due to her design background and years of experience in dressmaking, Maria is able to deliver beautifully crafted garments that are unique. She works closely with the client in a flexible way, to either realise their vision, or offer advice or inspiration through drawings and fabric swatches, for those clients who are more open minded or less confident.
Unusually, Maria is also a pattern cutter, so is able to produce patterns from individual measurements, ensuring that every garment is made to measure and a perfect fit.
Maria offers a service for those who want something a bit different and believes that feeling comfortable is the key to looking radiant on a special day. She describes it as 'effortless style'.
'I love the whole process of designing and making, from the initial concept through to the craft of making, and my ultimate goal is to achieve 'the perfect fit'
This is how it works:-
1. You will have an initial consultation to discuss ideas. Bring ideas with you such as pictures, a scrapbook, anything you like. And just as important, things you don't like. Your measurements will be taken.
2. On your next visit, you will have a basic calico toile made to your measurements to try on, and adjustments will be made. If you were unsure of your design, there will be design drawings for you to look at.
3. Next time there will be a calico toile of your design to try on. Adjustments will be made to get it just right before cutting the fabric/lace
4. The garment will be made in the real fabric/lace, but probably not finished, lined or hemmed to allow for final tweeks.
5. The final fitting!
