What is your most memorable wedding?
It was creating a gorgeous 3-piece custom beaded and hand embroidered lace gown that took over 200 + hrs for a dear friend. She had a beautiful detachable tulle overskirt and silk slip for the most stunning look for her London wedding.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Modern, Elegant, Sophisticated and Effortless
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm most proud that we are a small independently owned fashion and bridal atelier with a strong emphasis on slow and sustainable fashion. We create one-of-a-kind creations in London and refuse to mass produce garments.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Communication is so important. Ensure both of you are on the same page in regards to budget, location, and delegate responsibility so that no one person feels like they are doing all the work! Also, learn to be open and flexible!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Incorporating any family heirlooms into the wedding to honour the memory of your family who is unable to celebrate with you is so special.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The process starts with an in-person or virtual appointment where we get to hear about your wedding plans and dress dreams. During this consult, you will explore our collection with us as we recommend dresses for you based on your style. In some cases where you are unable to travel to us, we will send you sample garments and a measuring kit to try on after our first consult. We then work through a series of fittings to ensure your gown is a perfect fit. After receiving your final dress, we offer a follow-up appointment to answer final questions regarding alterations, fittings and adjustments where necessary.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the creative process of designing a custom bridal gown from sketch and seeing it come to life! More importantly, the elation of each bride when she sees her bespoke gown for the first time. It gives me so much satisfaction knowing that I've made someone's wedding so special.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
I'm a bit of a minimalist so I adore anything clean, asymmetrical or architectural but juxtaposed with fluid draped lines.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
I love hidden messages that only the bride knows about. I suggest embroidering a beautiful message, name or date in the dress or veil in a light blue thread!
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
Oh, this is a tricky question as I've created so many styles over my career but my favourite wedding dress of all time (for the moment) is Oria. I love her clean lines, flattering silhouette, and one-shoulder neckline but beautifully draped fluid back cowl.
