What is your most memorable wedding?
My sisters. That's the one that started my bridal boutique business so as well as it being an amazing wedding day due to it being family it's also so close to my heart for helping me set up my wonderful business.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Luxe, one-of-a-kind, fun, comfy and friendly.
What about your business are you most proud of?
How far I've come. Having opened in 2019, it's not been the easiest of rides but I'm so resilient and I have THE best brides who find their dream dresses with me. I make sure that every, single bride leaves my boutique having had the best time with me.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't let other people's opinions confuse your own. It's doesn't matter what someone else would of chosen for their wedding because it's yours, so you get to choose.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love sewing meaningful momentoes into brides dresses. We did one recently that was a gift from her Grandma and we sewed it into the lining of her skirt pocket so she could feel it walking down the isle.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Bride's are with me every step of the way in their wedding dress shopping journey. This is something that I really love about working by myself is that brides get a truly personalised service from me. After their initial enquiry or booking we go through wedding details so that it gives me an idea of what type of dress would work for them. I always pre-select some styles for them to try on for their appointment. More often than not, the first dress I put them in is THE ONE. I do this as I know the dresses in my shop like the back of my hand and I also know what looks good on different body shapes and how the dresses feel.
Once we've decided it's the one I take your measurements, talk you through the process in detail and get your dress ordered. You pay 50% of the dress at this point and the other half is due when the dress arrives into the boutique.
Alterations are all held in the boutique, which I'm also here with you for, right through until you collected your dress a few days before the wedding when it's been fully altered, and is all steamed and ready for you to wear.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting the brides and knowing that they've chosen me to go on this journey with them. It's such a special and personal experience and it's a privilege to be the one to guide, style and support them through the process.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
This changes on a weekly basis but I'm such a magpie and love anything sparkly but then I'm also a sucker for a simple and elegant 'plain' dress.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
We usually sew items on to the inside of a dress. Or I also have some gorgeous, elegant garters that are available to buy instore.
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
I think it would have to be Carrie Brandshaw's dress when she marries Big. It's such a beautiful, iconic dress. I've have a few that hint to it in the shop and brides love it.
