HM Faulkner Design Full Description
Luxury, Glamour, Perfection.... HM Faulkner Design is a high quality personal dress-making service and is a subsidiary of HF Alterations & Accessories (alterations, hair-pieces and tailoring). Many of the vast range of fabrics available are produced in England, unlike other cheaper and misleading websites who claim a British title and manufacture in Asia. All fittings are to the customer. I never take measurements online for an order as we are all different shapes. (An 'upper' hip to you may be a 'lower' hip to me). With 16 years experience, research and knowledge. Advice is free. Friendly service is key.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Heidi
It is always a pleasure to meet new brides, and owing to the nature of my work, a trusting customer-seamstress relationship is usually formed leading to many of my previous customers staying in touch. Order your dress with me and you will be in safe hands :)

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

I made a 1960s-esq bridal gown and the bride had 7 attendants. She was married in the month of January and the whole wedding party were so lovely and great fun to work with. They have since returned for various alterations.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Vintage, Contemporary, Luxury, Glamorous, Special

What about your business are you most proud of?

My knowledge of style throughout history and practical experience. In 16 years I must have worked with thousands of dresses.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Always read the small-print. Don't get caught-out with web sites that seem to offer something 'too good to be true'. It probably is.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A label I had to sew discretely in the back of a bride's mum's jacket that read "I loved you first".

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I rarely have contact with grooms. A bride or customer will come in to the shop where I work from, have a chat with me, look through the fabric books, I will draw some sketches and then an agreement will be signed. From then a toile (a mock up dress) is made and then the actual dress is made.

What do you love most about your job?

The creative process and designing garments.

What is your favourite style of wedding dress?

Dresses that show a good pattern and a good cut. Modestly sexy.

What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?

I am not going to give away my secrets....

What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?

The dress my mum wore when she married my dad.
