What is your most memorable wedding?
One of my couples got married at The Yoghurt Rooms in East Grinstead. The whole place is so pretty, there is a newly built bandstand where the ceremony can take place. They also have a yurt where the couple can stay overnight and there is accommodation for a number of guests to stay there too. There's a
lake and a swing from a tree and just off the large barn where the reception is held, there is a cow milking shed so if you love nature, this is your ideal venue.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Quality, feminine, elegant, boho, pretty
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm so proud of our google reviews, my mum and I have had the loveliest feedback. Every time I read a new one it makes me smile :)
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
If I was to only give one tip it would be to enjoy the planning, not to let the organisation take over, there is a lot to sort out and book, but if you
allow yourself plenty of time you can enjoy every step of the way.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
On the tables were packs of cards with questions about the couple, this was great for conversation starters with guests you don't know.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I tend to only see the brides and their family and bridesmaids. The bride will come in for her appointment where we get to know what she likes and dislikes, we try them in as many styles and colours so they can eliminate what they do and don't prefer. Once we find their dress, this is ordered and
we then next see them on their return to retry the dress on and take it home. We have our own seamstresses who comes back to the shop for
their final fitting so I can see how the finished dress looks.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that special moment when the bride realises she's found her dress, it's often emotional as they feel amazing in it. Girls give themselves a hard time a lot of the time and when I see a girl realise how beautiful she looks in her dress, it's the best feeling. I'm a silversmith by trade so work in my workshop making jewellery between bridal appointments. I'm always honoured to be asked to make their wedding rings. I make various bespoke or plain wedding
bands for the grooms and I make wedding rings for the brides sometimes to fit around the most unusual shaped engagement rings. I also make a
lot of bridesmaid and mother of the bride gifts too. These are often personalised.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
I love a boho style dress, with the right venue this looks perfect.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
One of my brides had her bridesmaids write a little message in blue biro and sign it on the soles of her shoes. This is a fun way to discretely include blue.
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
I get asked this all the time and it is literally the hardest question. There are so many stunning dresses, one that particularly sticks in my mind is one I
stock which has 30,000 crystals on the bodice and a tulle full skirt, it's absolutely stunning.
