...you must visit Laura at Bristol Bridal Boutique

If you want the really special bridal experience that is personalised and totally tailored then you must visit Laura at the Bristol Bridal Boutique. (You will be surprised to find out not many places provide the experience you are expecting). This is where I found my dream dress and had the opportunity to try on loads of gorgeous gowns with their own personality - not the same old standard dresses you find in every single bridal shop - and the prices are far more reasonable too. Laura was so helpful and genuinely excited for me which made the whole appointment even more special. I had an entourage of about 6 who were all taken care of with bubbles and the great service continued through to purchase and recommendations for alterations and shoes! I was so delighted with my dress which is a Jenny Packham Amata sample and even happier to have bought it from Laura. Highly highly recommend visiting her.

Laura was helpful friendly and professional

After a few trips to high street bridal shops, some with entrance fees and price tags beyond what I was comfortable with, I realised I wanted something different. My Mum stumbled across Laura's boutique online and made the appointment with ease for me and we went to see Laura together. Laura was helpful friendly and professional from the outset. Although I hadn't seen any one particular stand out dress for me on the website I could she had a good range of styles on offer. All the dresses were neatly presented in the hugely spacious dressing room with plenty of mirrors and accessories on hand. The dresses were all wonderful and after trying on about 5 I didn't feel any were quite right. Laura reassured me I have to feel comfortable in the dress so not to worry. I was enjoying trying them on (with bubbly in hand!) in this relaxed environment she created and she suggested I keep trying others on that perhaps I hadn't considered to suit me. I did just that and we all said 'wow' at once when I put on my now dress. Although I was sure about wanting to buy it there and then, Laura was happy for me to sleep on it and not rush. I went back a few days later to collect it, all nicely presented in its case ready for me and at a great price. I felt so special in the dress and feel lucky to have found 'the one' (both dress and husband!). The best part about planning the wedding was meeting so many lovely people like Laura and I would thoroughly recommend visiting her Boutique and hope you enjoy the experience as much as both myself and my Mum did.

I'd been so scared about finding my wedding dress

I had been so scared about finding my wedding dress and really getting that feeling 'this is the one'. Laura at the Bristol Bridal Boutique created an amazing experience, not only did I find the one, but I realised it wasn't just about the dress but the experience as a whole. Laura was so welcoming and relaxed that it was the first time I felt excited and happy about myself in the dresses that I tried on. Before visiting her boutique, I was really struggling to figure out what I wanted and what made me feel beautiful. She made me feel relaxed enough that I was able to stop worrying and be myself and that meant I was able to enjoy myself and most importantly find the perfect wedding dress for me. Laura has great style in her selection of dresses and you are instantly welcomed with a glass of bubbly and a book filled with pictures of the dresses that are hung around the room. My sister came with me to my appointment and brought my two nieces with. Laura was incredibly accommodating and got out toys for them to play with. It made it even more welcoming. Since buying my dress with the Bristol Bridal Boutique, Laura has continued to be awesome, giving me advice on alterations etc. I could not recommend her more highly. This was a day I will cherish and Laura helped it to be incredibly special. Thank you again! Rosemarie xx

This is exactly what a city like Bristol needs

This is exactly what a city like Bristol needs, a locally ran, beautiful bridal boutique that has a conscience. Found Laura so helpful, friendly and not at all pushy (unlike a couple of stores I visited!). I'm really looking forward to wearing my dress in April 2016. I had such a relaxed and enjoyable time trying on dresses, I went by myself and then brought my mother along for a second opinion... Not that I really needed it :-) if you're in two minds my advice would be to visit Laura, you won't regret it!

I was touched by the personal treatment I received

I was touched by the personal treatment I received and I'm really pleased that I found Bristol Bridal Boutique, I can't recommend Laura enough. I called Laura 9 days before I was due to get married as I heard from the shop that I'd originally bought my dress from to say that it wouldn't be here on time. Laura was really helpful, understood what a nightmare the situation was for me and within 10 minutes called me back that day to fit me in that afternoon to try on some dresses. She'd re-arranged her schedule so she could fit us in. She was really helpful, polite and I felt that she really wanted to help me. As soon as I hung up the phone I felt a little more relaxed about the situation. Laura has a great selection of dresses to choose from and she was happy for me to try on any that I thought would be suitable. She was really patient and kind. Exactly what I needed after being so let down. Laura arranged a fitting with the seamstress for me and kept me updated, it was a pleasure doing business with Laura and I'm really pleased I found her. She turned a stressful situation around and I can't thank her enough.

a perfect relaxed setting to try on the dress

The relaxed atmosphere you've created in your home to try on the dresses was great. Your bedroom, decorated with walls of beautiful gowns, created a perfect relaxed setting to try on the dress. From our first conversation on the phone, you have always been very chatty, friendly and honest. I really appreciated your honesty about the pen mark on the dress to ensure I knew exactly what to expect before coming to Bristol to try the dress on. We've also received the professional photos and obviously the Jessica Charleston dress I chose looked amazing, very happy with the dress and can't wait to wear it again for our wedding party in a few years.

Laura continued to provide an amazing service

When I first got engaged, a good friend told me about Laura and her plans to set up Bristol Bridal Boutique. It sounded like a great idea and I was really excited by the prospect of seeing her dresses. I started stalking Laura’s business page on facebook and found several dresses that I loved the look of. One in particular really stood out for me, the Jenny Packham Imari, as I loved the style and hadn’t seen anything like it in the bridal shops I’d visited. One Friday evening I went to see Laura along with our mutual friend Helen, and we had a brilliant evening with lots of prosecco and giggles. Laura is incredibly welcoming and professional, with an absolutely fantastic eye. All of the dresses she has chosen are stunning and even styles I had previously ruled out were tempting me. She is extremely patient, encouraging me to try on an amazing, full dress that I had no intention of buying just because it looked so brilliant! Finally, I tried on the Imari and… wow. I loved this dress. In fact I didn’t want to take it off, ever. Laura told me to think about it over the weekend, but I think we all knew it was coming home with me sooner or later. Laura continued to provide an amazing service after I bought the dress and recommended a fantastic seamstress, Susan Gilby. The dress was in perfect condition and amazingly, needed no alterations to the sizing apart from the length. I was a little nervous about the rather plunging neckline, and Susan and her team did an incredible job of adjusting this in a way that was completely in keeping with the design.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

It has to be a bride I had who came to me 2 weeks before her wedding...her dress had not arrived at the shop she had ordered it from! I promise this story ends well....She was quite emotional when she first called me to tell me what had happened but I said I could fit her in that day. She found a dress she loved and thankfully my seamstress was able to see her quickly too. The best moment for me was when she sent me some photos of the day and said that in the end she had much preferred the dress she had got from me. So all was well :)

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Classic, elegant, casual, relaxed, fun

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I can offer brides truly amazing dresses with such a fantastic discount.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Have fun planning and do what you want to do.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Homemade lemon curd and chutneys for all their guests

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I really enjoy seeing a bride on her own or with one other close relative/friend. First of all I ask her if she has tried on other dresses, if so what she likes and what she doesn't. We normally spend about 2 hours together.

What do you love most about your job?

The fun time I have with my brides trying on dresses and the moment they find the one! Also receiving the photo of their day months later is absolutely wonderful.

What is your favourite style of wedding dress?

OOOh that is tricky as I would normally say a vintage-inspired gown from the 1930s but I love a structured gown - I have Stewart Parvin gown at the moment which has a 'bardot' style/off the shoulder top with fit and flare shape at the bottom and I just adore it and can't believe no-one has snapped it up!

What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?

I love how some wedding dress designers sew a blue button or bow into the inside of the dress as incorporating blue into an ivory dress isn't easy - so best it is hidden I think!

What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?

My wedding dress - a sample Jenny Packham gown called Roseberry. Although I think the Duchess of Cambridge's Sarah Burton for McQueen dress is one of the best of all time!
