What is your most memorable wedding?
That's got to be my first bride Anna. Anna came to me about 10 months before her wedding and then due to Covid decided to bring it forward so we had to get her dress in in a bit of hurry. All went perfectly though and I felt like a proud parent when I saw how amazing she looked... just perfect!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
My style as a bridal consultant is caring, fun, patient, passionate & honest!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Just the fact that its my dream come true really, but I'm proud that I've created an environment that brides can feel comfortable in where there is no pressure and where they have a gorgeous selection of gowns to choose from.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Stay calm and enjoy it, this is an exciting time so don't sweat the small stuff and remember what its all about.. two people in love, committing to each other for life in front of their nearest and dearest, who will just be happy to share that moment.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
My cousin had pictures of family members who are sadly no longer with us next to the wedding cake so that they had them near on their special day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Each appointment may work slightly different as we recognise that all brides aren't the same and we like to tailor our appointments to suit each brides needs.
However, as a standard it starts from the moment they request a bridal appointment. I try to get to know them and will contact them a few days before their appointment to confirm their time and if they have time and are open to it, I have a quick 'get to know them' chat.
Once they're in the boutique and they're settled with refreshments, we'll start talking about wedding dress styles, their venue and wedding theme so that I can get and idea of what they like and dislike and I'll start selecting a few gowns to try. If they don't know, then that's fine, I'll choose I few different styles for them and take it from there.
We'll then take the bride through to our changing room to start trying some on. In each dress I see what's suiting them, what they like and dislike. I'm pretty honest too so we work together to find 'the one'. I also love to see how the bride and her entourage react to each gown..
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love it when I look in the mirror, see the brides face, & know she's found the one! its so amazing to know that you have helped them to find the most special dress that they are ever going to wear.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
Oh this is difficult because I just love wedding dresses and my favourite in the boutique changes every week. I think I just love that a wedding dress is such a personal choice and every bride has their own personal style. If I had to chose though I'd go timeless, elegance.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
The traditional me would say a good old fashioned garter, but the real me says SHOES... I love coloured shoes...
What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?
This is such hard question for a boutique owner but I love the Grace Kelly look and stock a few dresses in this style too...
