Hi - I'm Mhairi, Director at This Is How We Do Events LTD. It will likely be myself that you first speak to when you contact us, so thought it best to introduce myself now. This Is How We Do Events is my baby....my 3rd baby actually. I am mum to two gorgeous girls - Nara,4 and Brae, 3 - and decided to start this business so I could support our family doing something I love, while also insuring that I could still be front row at all the nursery and school shows! Impressed!

What is your most memorable wedding?

Our most memorable wedding was actually our own! Not because it was ours haha, but because that's when it really hit home just how much we wanted to make this work as a business. We absolutely loved making and creating fun and totally unique games for our own wedding. We enjoyed packing them into the van and setting them up. We enjoyed playing them on the day. And most of all, we enjoyed seeing our guests reactions and hearing their amazing comments about it all. We know first hand how much these games add to the experience of your wedding day!

What about your business are you most proud of?

That is SUCH a difficult question, but I'd probably have to say our personalised lawn games. You can't get them anywhere else, and they will be 100% unique and designed around you!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Have fun.

If it's ever getting too stressful planning (which, believe me, I understand that it can!) take a break, spend time with your partner, and HAVE FUN!

Don't loose sight of the person you are marrying...and why!

(and to be honest, no one will even notice if the napkins match the colour scheme!)

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Personalised wine bottle labels.

We did a wedding where the couple had printed out their favourite pictures of themselves and their guests and printed them onto the labels for the table wine. What an amazing idea!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

When you get in touch with This Is How We Do Events we can guarantee that we WILL get back to you. None of this no reply, hanging around nonsense! We aim to get back to couples within 24hrs of receiving an enquiry.

We will send you a copy of our brochure to browse (if you haven't already downloaded it from our website of course!) and check that we have availability on your date.

When you've decided what products you would like we'll confirm the booking and get all the T&Cs etc sorted. We require a 25% deposit to secure your booking.

After this we'll get working on any personalisation or themes that you have asked for.

About 2/3 weeks before your wedding date we'll send pictures of the actual products we'll be bringing to your venue and also send the final invoice. Your invoice needs to be paid no later than 14 days before your wedding date.

On the morning of your event (or in some cases the night before) we'll drop off your items and set them up for you. We'll come back to collect them again the day after your wedding.

We liaise directly with the venue regards drop off/pick up times, so you don't need to worry too much about that.

What is the best themed wedding you have worked at?

A llama themed wedding. Hands down.

What are the decorative trends with brides currently?

We are finding that lots of couples are choosing to be less traditional these days. There seems to be more colour, more fun games, and a lot less following of traditional customs and timelines.

What is your signature finishing touch?

We make sure that your experience with This Is How We Do Events is amazing from start to finish. Your guests will leave your wedding raving about how much fun they had...just wait and see!

What decoration do you think every wedding needs?

We are a BIG fan of bright colours. Our vintage school chairs are hand-painted in bright pink, piercing blue, sunny yellow, and crisp white. Boring chairs are....well BORING!
