What is your most memorable wedding?
I once took 252 helium ceiling balloons to a venue that I was helping to dress. That's a fair amount of balloons!! Set up was delayed and we didn't get in until 2 hours before the reception started and we had to sort all ceiling balloons and do the FULL set up/styling for the event. We got it done and I ended up feeling like best pals with the Bride and Grooms family/friend helpers. So much fun and we received a really lovely review from the bride.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun. Glamorous. Crisp. Luxurious. Mimilicious
What about your business are you most proud of?
Customer reviews. All lovely and heart warming
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Your ideas have to match your venue. If the venue is neutral you can get away with a lot more. If there’s very prominent decor features and colours these must be considered heavily in your design choices
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
It's actually something quite small and simple. I like the new flip flop box idea that seems to be a must have at weddings now. I've seen that at one of my weddings. It's not a big thing but I like it because instead of everyone sitting or walking around with achey feet, guests can grab some flip flops and dance the night away in comfort , making some really amazing memories. I hate having sore feet at parties and I can't think if anything more satisfying than switching from heels in to comfy, foamy flats when your tootsies start aching. It's great to have your event looking great, obviously that's a big part of my job. But a good planner/stylist things about how people will move about the space, experiences they will have and making it easier to interact and have fun.
What is the best themed wedding you have worked at?
It actually wasn't a wedding but a wedding-esq Baby Shower that I worked on with a social media influencer. Everything was white and silver and the venue set everything off perfectly. I still get sent messages and enquiries from the pictures we got months down the line. It is probably one of my most popular requests. I spent a lot of time talking with Jess Ranger also and it was nice to see it months later all set up and people enjoying the day and our props.
What are the decorative trends with brides currently?
Ceiling balloons and balloons in general
Flower walls are still massively popular
What decoration do you think every wedding needs?
A flower wall, balloon wall, photo booth or something that everyone can take a picture with. Memory making is so important and props like these really encourage people to get their cameras out. Great with a wedding day hashtag so you an view all of the pictures after the event.
