The Rub BBQ Full Description

A Taste of Togetherness for Your Wedding Day

If you’re dreaming of a relaxed, fun, and unforgettable wedding feast, The Rub BBQ offers a unique culinary experience that your guests will be talking about for years. This family-run business is fueled by a passion for incredible food, crafting every dish with care to add a flavorful, heartfelt touch to your celebration. Specializing in wood-smoked barbecue, they provide a fresh and exciting alternative to traditional wedding meals—perfect for creating a laid-back, joyful atmosphere on your big day.

The Heart of the Menu: Slow-Cooked & Handcrafted

At the core of The Rub BBQ’s catering is a commitment to quality and bold flavors. They use locally sourced ingredients and British meats to ensure every bite is fresh and top-notch. Their secret? Handcrafted rubs, marinades, and sauces developed from their own recipes, delivering a taste you won’t find anywhere else. Meats are slow-smoked for up to 16 hours, resulting in tender, mouthwatering dishes packed with flavor.

  • Signature Dishes: Expect crowd-pleasers like 16-hour oak-smoked pulled beef brisket, classic 12-hour hickory-smoked pulled pork, and maple-smoked chicken thighs bursting with flavor.
  • More Than Just BBQ: The menu goes beyond barbecue, offering a variety of canapés, sides, and desserts so you can create a complete, personalized wedding menu.
  • Dietary Needs Covered: They’re happy to cater to vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free guests with delicious options like the “Squeaky Clean” halloumi burger and the smoked tofu “Vegan Dog.”

As a caterer who specialise in private events, weddings has to be our preferred. We love being involved in helping someone make their big day special, and to have our clients tell us that they appreciate and recognise that we put the same love into our food and service as they do in making their wedding one to remember, is a great feeling.

FAQs

cateringFaqQuestion1

A small wedding or 70 people which was held in the grooms parents garden in marquee. A small but very intimate affair. We pulled out all the stops to ensure this was a great day and worked towards the tight budget the couple was on.

cateringFaqQuestion2

Slow Cooked, Unique, Flavoursome, From Scratch, Honest

cateringFaqQuestion3

All of our food, and sauces are made from scratch. They are unique, and flavours you are unlikely to find any where else.

cateringFaqQuestion4

Plan early, it will come round a lot quicker than you think. And keep your choices simple, too many options can confuse things so sometimes less can be more

cateringFaqQuestion5

A beautifully written song by the grooms best man about the happy couple. Sang by himself.

cateringFaqQuestion6

The first stage is to establish a couple's budget, and then to discuss the theme of their wedding. Identifying any particular culinary likes and dislikes before putting together a menu and service to suit.

We tend to invite couple's along to one of our public events also to sample the food, or alternatively we can bring a sample of foods along to their home.

cateringFaqQuestion7

A simple dish of served components that are designed to work perfectly and harmoniously together.

cateringFaqQuestion8

A couple wanted a very stylish modern menu but incorporating traditional Indian flavours. Wed designed several canapés which perfectly fit the theme but in keeping with our wood smoked style of cooking. But the dish we were most proud of was a Spicy 16 hour smoked and hand pulled land which was served in fresh soft naan bread and with an accompanying mango and mint salsa and yoghurt sauce. This has now made in onto our main catering menu.

cateringFaqQuestion9

As Thomas Keller once said "a recipe has no soul, you as the cook must bring soul to the recipe".

cateringFaqQuestion10

Love. As a child I asked my mother why her food tasted so good, she told me it was because she always added the secret ingredient of love!
