Run by husband-and-wife team James and Jess, this business combines passion for excellent service with delicious, freshly prepared food served from two charming vintage food trucks named "Betty" and "Hilda."
Deliciously Different: Our Wedding Menu
At the heart of The Chicken Strip’s menu is their signature buttermilk chicken, sourced locally and prepared with care. Each piece is hand-prepped, marinated, and coated in a special gluten-free recipe before being cooked to order—guaranteeing juicy, flavorful bites every time. The menu is simple yet satisfying, designed to delight your guests with a variety of tasty options:
- The "Big" Chicken Wrap: A generous tortilla filled with signature chicken strips, chips, lettuce, cucumber, cheese, and mayonnaise.
- The Chicken Strip Burger: Crispy chicken strips served in a classic brioche bun with fresh lettuce and mayonnaise.
- The Strip Dog: A creative twist on a hot dog featuring gluten-free chicken strips in a brioche bun with gherkins, American mustard, and crunchy onions.
- Crispy Chicken Strip Tacos: Three crispy taco shells packed with chicken strips, lettuce, cheese, soured cream, guacamole, and salsa.
To make sure every guest is happy, The Chicken Strip also offers delicious vegetarian and vegan options like the "Big Chip Wrap" and their popular "Cauli-bites." Plus, their chips are gluten-free and cooked separately to avoid cross-contamination.

The food trucks themselves are a highlight of your wedding day. "Betty," a classic 1970s Bedford CF, and "Hilda," a converted 1990s school bus, bring vintage charm and character that add a unique touch to your celebration. These beautifully restored vehicles not only serve fantastic food but also create memorable photo opportunities and a fun atmosphere for you and your guests.
Based in Harlow, Essex, The Chicken Strip is happy to travel to weddings across Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire—bringing their expert-led catering and vintage vibe right to your special day.

Our first wedding was the most memorable as it was actually back at our own wedding venue at The Barns at Lodge Farm. It was so lovely to be back there watch another couple having the best wedding day just like we did. Plus the team their are amazing!

In general a couple will message or call, I try and establish the basics first where/when/how many do we need to feed. We then talk about the menu options and what they want to offer their guests.
