Karen Rhodes catered our wedding at Lancrigg, Grasmere in March 2025! As most of our guests were travelling a long way to celebrate with us, we wanted to give them a taste of what the Lake District has to offer. Karen Rhodes came recommended to us by our venue and their Rustic menu was an instant hit with us as it was the perfect match for what we wanted: locally sourced, hearty food. We had our food tasting 5 months before the wedding and at the time declared it was the BEST pie and mash we had ever tasted - especially the gravy! Afterwards we had a great planning meeting with Charlotte who was able to put our minds at ease about the many dietary requirements our guests had. (The Pure Lakes hand wash was also super lush!) During the drinks reception we had a selection of mouth watering canapes: mini fish and chip cones, peking duck pancakes, moroccan cauliflower bites, mini yorkshire puddings with beef, spring onion bhajis and halloumi sticks. The mini fish and chip cones were a particular favourite - especially with the bride! For our wedding breakfast, we chose minted lamb/spiced root vegetable pie and mash followed by sticky toffee pudding to replicate what we enjoy eating after a long hike in the Lakes. The kids had either veggie pie and mash or sausage and mash. For the evening, thai green chicken curry and spinach, butternut squash, sweet potato & chickpea curry pots with rice and poppadom were distributed by a tray service and devoured by guests on and off the dancefloor. Charlotte, Lucy, Lauren and the Karen Rhodes team were absolutely fab from start to finish and the guests could not stop talking about how great the food was! The whole process was really smooth and the planning documents were circulated with clear deadlines on when they needed to be completed by, which helped with prioritization of wedmin in the final weeks leading up to the wedding. We are still getting comments on how incredible the food was! Not only did you serve the most delicious canapés and three course meal on our special day you continued your fabulous service by serving pizza straight from the oven on day 2! On top of that you went above and beyond to help us on the day and was way more than a catering team. Charlotte you were my go to on the day, you allowed me to relax whilst you took over! If you’re looking for a catering team (& a wedding planner on the day!!!)

They were absolutely incredible on our wedding day and during the lead up to it. Charlotte couldnt have done anything more to help make sure our day was perfect. They always replied to emails quickly, the tasting was fantastic, they were always adaptable and hand happy to answer my countless questions. The sit down meal surpassed all my expectations. The food was incredible and the staff & timing were impeccable. Thank you all so much for making sure everything was exactly as we hoped!

It's been nearly a year since our wedding in Cumbria and people are STILL talking about the food. As a pair of food lovers ourselves, we were keen to have the perfect flavours to accompany our big day. We couldn't have found better! Thank you so much to Charlotte and Tori for catering our whole wedding weekend. We had a three day event and the team put so much effort into making everything run so smoothly. All the food was delicious, beautifully presented and served to perfection! Our guests are still talking about how impressed they were with all the food and they are not an easy bunch to please!! Thank you for helping us have the wedding of our dreams. The food was incredible with many of our guests saying it was the best wedding food they have ever had! The whole process from booking, date changing and the build up was simple. The team on the day were so attentive making sure glasses were full and guests were fed. Wish we could do it all again!

Mitch and I (My HUSBAND) would like to thank you and your team for the amazing food Saturday. We can’t get over the army of staff you had! Each and every one of them were amazing! The attention you pay to detail is unreal, and you are much more than a caterer, you pulled everything together. All of our friends and family have been raving about the food, and a few of our friends were amazed at the canapés that just kept on coming!
