What is your most memorable wedding?
It was quite a few years ago now but it was a New Years Eve Wedding and the Bride loved Disney so she had a castle in the middle with 6 tiers surrounding the main cake. To see it come together from the first meeting to the designing and finally creating it was wonderful. But I have had many designs over the years from cars with mud splattered over the wedding cake, to covered wedding cakes in orange, purple, pumpkins and spider webs.So nothing is off limits really. I love doing it all.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
I really don't think I have a set style, I work with the couple to create what you want and I'm lucky with the experience I have to be able to make anything because of my broad amount of skill.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That we have had a few ups and downs but I'm still loving what I do.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have fun with planning what you would like for your big day, but remember it's about you as a couple moving forward with your lives with one another.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We meet up on an agreed date suitable for us both. You get to choose 4 flavours of cake from my range along with a cup of tea or coffee. We go through what you are looking for, any ideas, themes, dress patterns, where your venue is , how many guests and then you get to taste cake. From your ideas I sketch out your design and if it needs a few tweaks then I can make the changes until you are happy. Once you decide on cake flavours that you like, I then take all your choices and after the consultation I email over a price for the design. The appointment is usually about an hour long.
If you then want to go ahead a non refundable deposit is taken by bank transfer. Then once everything is agreed by both parties an invoice is written up for your wedding cake. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding taking place.
