Hi, I'm Carolyn 👋
Warm, caring,
Warm, calm,
Lifelong baker, mum, grandma, former English teacher. In my free time I love walking my dogs, riding my horse, reading (I'll try any author once). My favourite authors are J. R. R. Tolkien and C. J. Sansom. I love rock, country, trad jazz, and classical music. My passion is designing and creating the perfect, bespoke cake for every couple. Global warming and the state of our planet have made me careful about how I live and the ingredients I use.

The best ever chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted

My big birthday cake looked fabulous. Of course it did. Just look at the pictures on the Bake Boutiques’s website. But that doesn’t tell you about taste. Let me tell you about the taste. It was the best ever chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted. Sadly, I only got one slice as my guests thought it was sublime too. One of my guests owns a multi entity food group, one company being a cake business; she told me that she had never tasted anything better either.

The cake was absolutely delicious

The cake was absolutely delicious and also looked so beautiful. The different flavours we wanted were each given their own tier, so there was really something for everyone! We also wanted to incorporate our dog and this option was made available to us. Couldn’t recommend more.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Initial enquiries can be made via my website and a Zoom or telephone consultation can be booked. I will work with you to understand exactly how you want your cake to look, and how many guests you need to serve. At this point you can order a taster box to choose your flavours. The cost of the taster box is deductible from the cost of your cake. If you love the look of a larger cake, but don't want lots left over I can add in dummy tiers to save on waste. I don't do carbon copies of other people's cakes, but I can add in anything that you particularly like to create your own unique cake. I will work to incorporate colours and flowers you have chosen so that your cake fits perfectly into your theme.

What would be your show stopper in the Great British Bake Off?

I don't think I could stand the pressure of camera crews and Paul Hollywood looking over my shoulder, but, if I had to do it it would be a Fraisier with a raspberry sorbet in its centre.
