Our couples usually start with an email or phone call, we generally meet up for a consultation and a cake tasting. I love this part as I can get to know our couples and chat about what they really would like and dont like.
I loved making my five tier cake with hand made roses filling the bottom tier, The fourth tier with ruffles. The top 3 tiers with trailing flowers all hand made from sugar.
3 Tier cake with the bottom tier rice krispies with mars bars,
middle tier was corn flakes with milk chocolate and marshmallow
Top tier was layered flapjacks.
The cake was half covered in fondant with hand made flowers trailing down the edge. Our couple absolutely loved it.
I trained as a pastry chef back in the 80s at The Queens Hotel in Bournemouth. I dipped in and out of patisserie but decided when my kids were old enough I would start out on my own. Im so glad I did.
