Wedding in a large teepee in the middle of a field... so difficult to find the location, but magical when I did!
The couple surprised me with taxidermy Bride & Groom mice clutching champagne glasses and flowers to sit next to the cake - not for everybody, but I loved the uniqueness!
We would liaise via email to discuss initial ideas and price range. Once the booking has been secured with a booking fee, we would meet for the consultation to discuss flavours and design ideas and any other relevant information. I would then sketch the cake and send to the client, giving them the final balance cost. Final balance cost is due 2 weeks prior to the event date.
As a guide, I don’t tend to hold the design consultation until a booking is secure as I’m super busy and need to save those precious time slots for customers who have already secured their booking with a deposit.
I’m happy to go through some costs with you, to check we’re on the same page price-wise. You can then either come to meet me for a chat before securing the date, just so that you know where your cake will be made and by who (me!) before you pay your deposit… or you can simply pay the deposit (usually 30% of estimated cake cost) then come along for a full design consultation at your leisure.
Delicious, creative and perfectly neat with straight edges and sharp corners!
A half and half wedding cake... full on frills and ruffles on the front, then Harry Potter's favourite elf, Dobby, on the back complete with Marauder's Map, spell books, sorting hat, etc.
If you love making cakes, Wedding Cakes are always the ultimate aim so I went to a few Wedding Shows and the rest is history.
I wouldn't do it... they never have long enough to even cool the cake, let alone allow the ganache to set... it would be my worst nightmare!
