At a vintage wedding, every guest had a beautiful tea cup with a cupcake in each. It was a lovely way to combine giving their guests a piece of cake and also a little keepsake of the day. For the pictures they had a 5 tier dummy cake. Beautiful and a real treat to make.

I love to meet up with my couples, it's a great to get to know them and learn more about the plans they have for their special day. Most chose to come to me but I also offer to go to them if it's easier. At the meeting they get to try some cupcakes in the flavours they are considering for their cake and we can talk about the ideas they have for the design. I make lots of notes and by the end of the meeting we have a draft design.

My Whisky Fruit Cake. Made with a single malt from the English Whisky Company. Couples who have said they wouldn't have fruit cake because they don't like it have tried it and fallen in love.

I have designed a cake for a couple who love ducks. They came to their consultation with Bride and Groom Rubber Duckies and we went from there. I can't give too much away because the wedding isn't until the end of April 2017 but it's going to be Quaking :-)

I have always enjoyed baking, from a little girl making fairy cakes with my mum, to a mum myself making cakes with my children. After being a full time mum for a few years, I began to feel the need to return to work. I didn't want to give up the time I had with my children so I started to consider things I could do from home. During this time my son had his summer fayre at school and some how I was given the job of making cakes for the cake stall. They had an Alice in Wonderland theme so I thought it would be fun to make some cupcakes with different Alice decorations. To my surprise they were a instant hit, and that day I had 5 parents ask me to make cakes for their children's birthdays. It was that day that NJL Creations was born. I took a course on cake baking and decorating, and I have never looked back. I love what I do and I love that I can make people happy with the cakes I create.
