An uber-cool wedding in a Bermondsey warehouse with a fairground and skulls theme!
Classy, creative, quirky, colourful, friendly!
I'm incredibly proud that all the feedback from my brides and grooms talks about how beautiful the cake was, how delicious it was, and how straighforward and enjoyable I made the process. I'm frequently told that the cake was the one thing about the wedding that was stress free. I love that.
Don't believe blogs that tell you to book the cake 3 months in advance! Good wedding cake makers are also small business, and we get booked up a long way in advance. Get in touch the moment you've set a date!
A home-made seating plan made with paint sample cards and lettraset - bold and colourful and retro and stylish and a work of art.
Most couples look first at my website and then get in touch via email. If they've got an initial idea of the sort of cakes they like (however vague) I'll give them an initial quote, including delivery. Then they'll often come for a consultation, which is just a caht and a chance to eat some cake! Once I've got a better idea of how they'd like the cake to look I'll give them a firm quote, and when they are ready they will pay a £50 deposit to secure their date. From there, it's all about the details: maybe they need a sketch, or maybe they want to explore more design options, or try more cake. I co-ordinate delivery with their venue and caterer. On the day, I'll text them a photo of the cake so they know it's waiting for them. Then they eat the cake!
London skyline cake, naked cakes, and my 'birdgcage' cake design which is actually based on the glasshouse at Syon House
A pile of penguin classic books. And a fairground/skulls cake. And a Day Of The Dead cake. I could go on...
I've always baked and was responsible for all of the family birthday cakes as I was growing up. When I had my kids I found myself make birthday cakes for them and their friends, until it started taking over my life! As my skillset increased I started getting more and more wedding cake orders. I quite my old job (I was a chemical engineer!) in 2009 and have never, ever looked back.
A 4-tier cake in four flavours: Chocolate and salted caramel, banoffee, champagne and strawberry and cocnut and lime.I'd decorate it with sugar flowers in beautiful colours!
