Definitely a wedding at the Clifton Observatory in Bristol, overlooking the Avon Gorge and suspension bridge. Access to the venue was a rather unnerving drive up the side of the hill along a busy footpath! Incredible views and a unique venue make this a really memorable wedding.

I am most proud of the attention to detail for our clients, with intricate hand piping and award winning realistic sugar flowers featuring in many of our designs.
Don't forget that it is about YOU! Whilst it is important for everyone to enjoy themselves, they are there to help celebrate your wedding, so choose the things that you love.
To be perfectly honest, I've normally delivered the wedding cake before the personal touches are added to the venue so I miss seeing everything come together. I do love it when I get to hide something personal in with the sugar flowers though. One wedding had a small golden snitch in with the flowers!
Most couples will book a personal consultation so that we can meet up and go over the details of the wedding. This gives us time to develop the design idea and enables me to work out an accurate quotation.
It also gives the couple the opportunity to sample some cake.
One of my favourites was a selection of square and rectangular cakes iced and decorated to look like stacked board games. The couple loved board games and had helped kickstart one of them. They were displayed on stacks of their own Dungeons and Dragons books.
In 2005 I started making birthday cakes for my children, with 5 children I had plenty of opportunity to practise my skills! As my work developed I decided that I could use my skills to create cakes for others so I enrolled in a college course that would give me a qualification.
I not only passed Levels 1, 2 and 3 with distinctions but actually ended up teaching cake decoration at the same college!
I discovered a love for sugar flowers and abstract art which, alongside my traditional royal icing skills, offered the perfect combination for contemporary, elegant wedding cakes.
A towering English architechture inspired cake decorated with cascades of traditional garden flowers such as peonies, sweet peas, rambling roses and lavender and hints of wild flowers like bindweed, daisies and foxgloves. Not that I'd have enough time!
