You never forget your first! Even better it was for my best friends wedding and she wanted something beautiful but not your everyday cake. That Cake has stood the test of time and still looks gorgeous today, it was featured in Tie the Knot Scotland magazine and I was super proud.
A gorgeous all white five tier wedding cake with stencilling, sugar flowers and personalised monogram which was set up under a beautiful floral arch at Kinettles castle.

Winning both National and Regional Cake designer of the year was a personal and business highlight and to have come so far in such a short space of time.

When you come to see me bring your mood boards, Pinterest pins, material samples, invites or just about anything you’ve already planned for your wedding, these will help me get a feel for your wedding and often become the basis of your design for your wedding cake. It’s amazing what inspiration can be found from what you’ve already organised.
Take your time, and always keep what’s important to you close to heart and don’t be swept up in what others want or expect....it’s your day have it your way! Ok so that might have been 3 or possibly 2.5 tips, sorry!
I loved a couple who’d had their faces printed on m&ms there was something super cute yet also added a touch of humour to the wedding.
Too many to mention, something heartfelt or personal always goes a long way for me.
First point of contact is usually through my social media or email. We can then arrange a consultation either in person or via media platforms that suit us both. At which point we discuss designs, themes, or cakes you may have already seen. We discuss numbers, flavours, cake tastings can be arranged for the same time, and those details that are important to you. I then quick sketch a design to make sure I’ve captured the essence of what you want. A further detailed cake proposal is sent should you decide to go ahead after initial consultation including your quote. One a booking fee is paid you are considered booked. 8 weeks before the cake is due final payment is made and we finalise all the details for your booking. The week of the wedding I touch base to check how your doing and also contact the venue to discuss directly delivery arrangements and set up so it’s one less job for you to do. On the day I’ll confirm when the cake has been delivered so that all that’s left for you to do is relax and enjoy your day.
Normally we liaise via email to discuss availability and dates and then my couples are invited to a zoom consultation where we discuss the details of the day, their vision, hopes, colour schemes and themes. From there we move on to discuss cake designs and how we see that fitting in. Any likes/dislikes/special requirements. From there I go away and design a bespoke cake for my couple based on the discussions we’ve had over zoom. I then send the couple their design with costings and should the couple decide to go ahead we proceed from there. There is also the chance to order samples which are posted to the couples homes so they can try before they commit should they wish to.
Any thing with a sugar flower on it and I’m hooked!
Tall tiers, bold colours and adorned with sugar flowers.
all My cakes are bespoke and so original but over the years I’ve had some fun ones too such as the winter wedding cake full of sparkles but with the bride, groom and their dog on a sledge coming down the cake. The time I was asked for an all white affair with an offshore crane “fishing” for his other half who was sat lower down the cake. The couple met on a dating app called go fishing, she was a paramedic doc and he was a crane driver and they wanted this reflected in the cake. I don’t tend to make these styles often as I like to feature on the flowers and no longer model figures but they were certainly fun, interesting, though some times a little tricky, cakes to make!
I once had to make an offshore crane and crane driver cake topper and a paramedic for a couple who married and wanted both their professions represented...never again! Xx
I’ve always loved florals and as I moved in to making sugar flowers the next step was to put them on something super pretty! After being in business a while my best friend asked me to do her wedding and the rest as they say is history!
I had been making birthday and occasion cakes for just over a year when my best friend as me to make her wedding cake for her. I was honoured she trusted me enough to make this happen for her. It was an absolute joy to make and I loved it, though being bridesmaid and cake maker did have its problems the cake did not and after that I was hooked.
I’m all about the tiers and live by the motto go big or go home so it’s would have to be something super tall and I love colour so it would have to have lots of colour and a ton of sugar flowers on it!
A multi tiered, jewel toned and gold accented number with a nod to baroque and a sugar flower detail
