We met Eleanor Gerrish at a wedding fair at our venue, Warren House Hotel, and thought her wedding cakes were beautiful, but I didn't want flowers on the cake, I was looking for something simple and stylish. When we looked at her website she had a three tier cake with an ombre colour effect that we really liked, which Elle adapted to my husband's favourite green and with more gold added for me.
When we did the tasting, oh my! We tasted six flavours and couldn't choose a favourite so decided on a different flavour for each layer - Belgian Chocolate, Cherry Bakewell and Sticky Ginger Cake. Yum, yum yum!
On the day, Elle set up the cake so beautifully with our cake topper and a couple of gold love birds we provided, on her gold cake stand. Her cake didn't disappoint, and the butter icing on the outside was just gorgeous.
We were worried we might be over-catering and made arrangements for guests to take some home, but all the cake served was eaten, just crumbs left at the end of the night!
