I absolutely love being given the opportunity to get creative. It's why I love my job so much! I loved designing a black wedding cake, complete with hexagons, black sugar crystals and a wire sculpture. It was a real show-stopper.
Creative, classic, bespoke, quality, unique.
Being invited to have my designs in national wedding magazines. It always blows my mind to know that my cakes have been seen by hundreds of thousands of brides and grooms.
Do what YOU want and not what others do.
Sweet polaroid pictures of all the guests from their past at every table setting. It must have taken a lot of effort to do.
Usually couples put down a deposit to secure the date as I get booked up very far in advance. (It's also possible to have a consultation without doing this.) Then we arrange a consultation when they come to the kitchen, spend a lovely hour or so tasting cakes and we come up with some designs. After that, there are as many emails and phone calls as necessary to finalise the design.
I don't have one signature design but they often incorporate fresh flowers.
Every one is original and unique!
I started baking for local cafes. But I was itching to use my creative side and design wedding cakes like some of the beautiful ones I had been following on social media. I gradually moved into weddings and love it so much, I have never looked back!
Something tall using wafer paper as it's an unusual technique and is definitely show-stopping.
